I think Obama had “buyers remorse” with the Islamist putsch the Saudis helped create in Syria B4 they had buyer’s remorse with him.

Saudi Arabia - a fuedal kingdom/dictatorship with a strong bond (pact) between the state rulers and a virulent radical fundamentalist brand of Islam - Wahabi-Islam, where religious police watch everyone, and where “Liberals” who speak out for “democratic change” can and are jailed and in league with religious edicts may be permanently silenced (killed) for apostasy (a charge one Liberal activist in a Saudi prison has recently had placed against him).

Syria - s secular dictatorship where under its constitution the head of state is not required to be a Muslim, there is no state religion and there are no religious police.

Now you see what the proxy war fomented in Syria by our “friends” and with our help is really all about.

The Saudis want us to attack Iran? Why? For our benefit? No. For theirs. If war with Iran is what they want, then let them do it themselves, we shouldn’t be involved with doing it for them.

Now THAT would be a war to watch. Two different brands of radical islamofascism fighting each other - one Arab, one Persian. Who would we root for? I would pray for maximum casualties on both sides. That would be as much fun as the old Iran/Iraq war.

Historically, the Arabs and Persians are terrible fighters. If the Saudis want to win they’d have to ally themselves with Israel so that they could do the heavy lifting. THAT would go over like a left-sided handshake in the world of islam.
