In the summer of 1940, as British pilots fought desperately for the skies of southern England, the battle was joined on a very different front, thousands of miles from the coast of Kent.
It was fought through the political salons of Washington DC, the boardrooms and the smoky nightclubs of New York.
The protagonists had no uniform save that of a well-tailored suit; their weapons were native cunning, a plausible manner, and, from time to time, a concealed revolver.
This was the secret battle for America, ordered by Winston Churchill himself, and the fate of the free world hung upon it.
Today, we can reveal the untold story of how British agents went to war on Wall Street, a story pieced together from a remarkable collection of secret intelligence reports lying untouched for decades.
Uncovered by the MoS, the documents show how British agents took on Nazi sympathisers in the US with a masterful campaign of dirty tricks and disinformation, how they outmanoeuvred Hitlers network of American allies and how they, ultimately, destroyed the Third Reichs powerful business and intelligence empire across the water.'

wow- Never learned this in school...very interesting..
Churchill was wise enough to realize that the survival of Britain hinged on the backing of the USA. He did whatever he thought necessary to insure our involvement in the war on Britain’s side and as early as possible.
Rockefellers always in the middle of everything from Communist Russia to Nazi Germany.
Very interesting. I haven’t heard about most of the story. Thanks for posting.
Breitbart/New Media ... modern day MacLaren's. Great article. Thanks for posting.
Yes....and the Ford's and Bush's seem to creep their way in, too.
Same needs to happen to Obama’s cash sows: big union, big green, big muslim, big gay...
No wonder “The Great ObamaNation” indignantly sent Churchill’s statue back, he spied on us and meddled in our business. “The Great ObamaNation” would never do such things. Period.
We are seeing the equivalent here today. You have people with no souls from Wall street to the White House rushing us into a nuclear war with Iran.
Wow! As my husband said, it now makes sense as to why we didn’t take the shiploads of Jewish refugees. Shame on us!
McLaren ran for a seat in the labor party in 1950? hmmmmm...
Interesting article. I’m not sure that American Firsters were pro-Nazi. Isolationist, indeed. And Lindberg was a real fool as his wife eventually pointed out.
My Irish-American family have assured me that Father Coughlin was no Nazi. (I’ve never heard one of his broadcasts.) Unfortunately, Irish immigrants of my great grandfather’s generation (and his children) were very bitter towards England. So very bitter. Hard for me to understand.
On the other hand, my old neighborhood of Yorkville in New York City (centered around the east side at 86th Street) was a hotbed of Nazi activity. It’s been this decade that finally saw the end of the German restaurants and beer halls in that area.
The first dictator would have had a rough time selling a German War if not for that. My family are Yankees and Westerners.
Just downloaded this for $3. Used PayPal. It's 64 pages and an absolutely fascinating expository historical read!
I have an original copy of a pamphlet that was authored by Lindbergh for America First in 1941. It has nothing to do with promoting Nazism.

I believe my family were American Firsters. They certainly were NOT Nazis or even had sympathies in that direction. When the time came, all the men fought honorably.
Lindbergh made 3 trips to Germany prior to the out break of the war with the US (and with Britain). The US maintained diplomatic relations with Germany throughout the '30's and up to and until Germany declared war.
There were a number of American industrialists who were awarded the Iron Cross - Henry Ford being one of them, the Ambassador of France being another. The original Fokker Tri-Motor ran with Ford engines, in fact.
As a point of interest in my 78 RPM record collection I have a US-marketed (though European recorded) RCA pressing of Artur Schnabel performing Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto in G minor, Op. 58. You may recall that each record at the time had a needle catcher which encircled the center label. A serial number for the album was typically embossed there with the pressing. The serial number on this album includes a swastika in the numbered embossment. US trade with Hitler's Nazi Germany proceeded apace in the 1930's
Lindbergh's father served in Congress during WWI and watched how America got swept into the conflict after Wilson ran in 1916 on the platform "He kept us out of war." Lindbergh saw no reason to do the "fool me once, fool me twice" when Europe was on the verge of finishing the war that the Armistice of 1918 had only postponed.
Lindbergh received the Iron Cross from Goering at a dinner held on October 18, 1938 in his honor. Lindbergh looked at it merely as an honorary recognition of his achievement, not as an endorsement or recognition of presumed sympathy with of Nazi philosophy.
Kristallnacht occurred a month later. It changed everything. Lindbergh cancelled what were his plans to move from France to Berlin as result.
If Lindbergh had a fault it was his Darwinian sense of "racial" superiorities, particularly perceived superiority of "Germanic" stock vs. "Asian" (read: Russian) stock. "Our civilization depends on a western wall of race and arms which can hold back the infiltration of inferior blood."
As one who is of 1/2 Scandinavian descent (as was Lindbergh) and 1/2 Russian descent, naturally I am one who might be expected to take issue with his view~! Aside from that, however, his personal accomplishments for which his "Lone Eagle" moniker followed him throughout life has always been of personal inspiration to me.
I have an autographed 1st edition copy of his book, "We" signed only weeks before his son was kidnapped, and an accompanying letter archive of a well-wishing news publisher corresponding with Lindbergh and covering the time from when the kidnapping occurred, but still prior to Lindbergh's knowledge of his son's fate. A chilling exchange with an anxious father it is, indeed.

Just a pro-fascist anti-Semite then, lol.
