Though I do think we need less debates, and NONE moderated by NBC, I get the feeling the RNC is planning everything around Krispy Kreme.

I just hope next time my favorite candidate does not drop out due to bad press and some fake harassment scandal again.

Conservatives must unite during the PRIMARY elections in their state in order to compete against the RINO candidate - nominating 10 different conservatives against the GOPe candidate is never going to work.

I’ve been to Republican caucus meetings in my state for the last three presidential primaries and the conservatives rarely work together to support an acceptable conservative candidate - everyone has their idea of what a conservative truly is and refuses to budge on their definition - no one ever seems to get the big picture of defeating the lion in your face.

I’m not talking about supporting Romney, I’m talking about the primary process. How can a conservative candidate win against the establishment candidate when conservatives are so busy fighting each other they can’t unite behind even ONE acceptable candidate??

Then the “true” conservatives who refused to compromise even a little will not only help nominate the worst candidate, but destroy the country as well- a very pernicious ideology.

On top of that they will feel very self-righteous about it as well.

And I’m not talking about compromising on core beliefs - conservatives will often refuse to support another conservative because “they aren’t good in a debate” or “20 years ago one of them voted for a democrat” or “they have too many skeletons” in their closet” or their voice sounds funny or they are too “fundamentalist” or too Catholic and on and on.

We’ve GOT to unite within our respective states - economic and social conservatives - Tea Party and Libertarians - if we don’t it’s all over and the enemy’s won.

Run-off primaries would stop a lot of that. Then you wind up with the GOP-E preferred candidate, and the top vote-getter conservative in a run-off.

The GOP-E will NEVER go for that, or anything else that doesn't stack the cards in the favor of the liberal candidate.

“Another part of their strategy is to once again pre-select their establishment candidate whose “turn” it is,

and then place him against 5 conservative candidates that the base actually wants....”
******************************************************************
It’s clear that Huckabee has already “unofficially” volunteered to be one of these “conservative” candidates to attract some votes from a true candidate such as Ted Cruz. Huckabee has already performed his first chore for the GOPe by endorsing his fellow false conservative Little Lindsey Graham.

I hope that Huckabee is NOT fooling any of you conservatives out there—but he probably is.

The caucus is a closed system in most states. At the Washingto one you were asked to show your voter registation with party affiliation on it to attend.

We had problems with the GOP establishment messing with caucus votes to advantage Romney. It was unseemly.

Don’t matter, caucus wouldn’t count.

Anything that requires someone to screw around for an hour or more doesn’t represent the views of the electorate.

People that work nights can’t even vote.

I like that idea of a run-off primary.

Then the Conservatives need to draw straws or something, anything but narrow the pack to one Conservative and the GOPe progressive.

They seriously need to get real about controlling all the egos in the party. There should only be two candidates in their primary and all the other "wannabe's" should be weeded out before more self destruction.

Can you say Tim Pawlenty, Thad McCotter, Herman Cain, Gary Johnson, Buddy Roemer, John Huntsman, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and the perennial Ron Paul??

If the public has to say "Who?" or "Not him again!!" or the candidate doesn't have the committment to follow through, get 'em out of the gene pool.

It would be refreshing to actually see a real debate. What those abominations have devolved into are sound bite opportunities.

The GOPe is stacking the deck in this process, you can be sure of that.

One thing I find interesting is the prohibition on early winner take all primaries.

We wouldn’t want a conservative to win all those SC delegates early.

There was a SCOTUS decision in 1972 in a case where leftist McGovern Demonrats challenged then Mayor Daley's delegation to the Demonrat National convention. In essence, SCOTUS ruled in favor of the party to control and impose its own rules against any governmental attempt to control a party's rules UNLESS the rules were designed to racially exclude blacks (which had been disallowed by an earlier SCOTUS decision against a racially exclusive Alabama Democrat primary scheme).

That said, there SHOULD be a national party rule requiring any and all GOP primary voters to be REGISTERED as Republicans. If the government statutes do not provide for party registration, then the state party should be required to register voters as Republicans. No registration change should be allowed within the six months prior to the primary. No one who has voted in a Democrat primary or been a registered Democrat within a year immediately preceding the GOP primary should be allowed to vote in such GOP primary.

A second change that would be welcome would be a national party rule allowing only those debates that are NOT run by the Lame Stream Media. The model should be the format used by then US Senator Jim DeMint for the South Carolina primary in 2012. All panelists questioning candidates must be legitimately conservative opinion leaders of integrity and distinction such as: Victor Davis Hanson of the Hooverr Institute on foreign and military subjects, Princeton Professor of Philosophy Robert George on social issues, Professor Thomas Sowell on budget and finance. issues, etc. No "gotcha" leftist questions. No direct confrontation of the candidates who would be questioned individually outside the presence or hearing of the other candidates.

It would not lend itself to a party rule, but it would also be useful to have a debate of that sort, well before the primary season to vette the conservative candidates ONLY. This could be held in Spring or Summer of 2015. Participants agree to be guided by a substantial straw poll of conservatives and to withdraw in favor of a conservative consensus candidate if the mantle of heaven fails to drape itself around the other candidates' shoulders. Let the GOP-E do what they please but without us. Then we have one candidate and they have several when the primary votes begin.

Finally, the expenditure of unusually large sums of money (usually provided by the usual Wall Street suspects or the candidate's megafortune) should be regarded as the political equivalent of child-molesting, i.e. an attempt to corruptly BUY a nomination. If any conservative primary campaign is ever adequately funded against the candidacy of a trust fund baby, it will be a first. Make megaspending shameful to the nth degree. The candidate who depends on megaspending is the potential office holder who brings that mentality to public spending. If anyone claims to be a "fiscal conservative," make him or her prove it by campaign spending habits.

Some good points. Eliminate “super delegates” altogether.

The problem is, so many conservatives refuse to bend when it comes to nominating their side’s candidate. No one is ever good enough for the majority of conservatives. They will only vote for their guy and will refuse to vote in the general election if their “guy” doesn’t’ win The primary.

They will even vote for a democrat just to spite those they disagree with. I’ve seen that happen on several primary seasons.

And you'll see it again this time...How many times do you guys have to vote for a loser before you guys figure it out???

You are going to lose again unless you vote for the conservative in the primaries because we won't bend for the liberal and moderate Republicans...It's your turn to bend, or lose again...What'll it be???

Of course they are setting it up for the doughnut..

They like rats in their primaries, they don’t like conservatives.

If Kristy gets the nod I am writing in Phil Robertson.

How about closing the primaries to registered Pubs only.

You don’t get it. Conservatives must unite against the RINO candidates and support a single conservative, Tea Party candidate. Nominating several conservatives allows the RINO to win.

The GOP is dead and they don’t have the money for a long primary. Good riddance.

Long Live the Tea Party......Republicans have moderated/middle-of-the-roaded themselves to the status of road kill, worthless road kill. They couldn’t even build a FENCE, during the time they had all three branches of the US gov.
