The bottom line is that reform will not emerge from Washington DC. We vote less for representatives who make law on our behalf, and more for a president who instructs his untouchable bureaucrats to make the law.
Our Framers gave us the peaceful means to do an end run around our oppressors. We must use Article V before it is too late.
“Without a single fingerprint on the law or its implementation, and despite it never polling a majority, the GOP will be browbeaten into making it work.”
I disagree. The GOP showed its true stripes this fall in failing to defund Obamacare. The GOP has controlled the House of Representatives and all federal appropriations since January 2011 yet has been unwilling to defund Obamacare and go to the mat with Obama and the Senate on the issue. Their failure to defund Obamacare, when the majority of the American people oppose Obamacare, demonstrates the GOP is doing the bidding of the corporate interests who fund the party. Those corporate interest want to replace employer paid medical care with single payer government funded healthcare.
The GOP is not being browbeaten to do anything. Our GOP representatives are voluntarily doing the bidding of the big money corporations who benefit from big government. With the exception of the Reagan years, the GOP in modern times has always supported big corporation, and big government, ahead of small business and the average citizen.
