That’s ok. My textbook for my viticulture class (vineyards) had all white faces in it. All the students in the class were white as well. Hardly a representation of the reality of the vineyard industry.
Colleges fake brochures to push diversity-
‘I saw my head cut off and kind of pasted onto the front cover’

goes well with our fake economy and fake president
I don’t think colleges are any worse that most big businesses. Take a look at advertisements you see.
Better than worry about stupid stuff like their academic record. /s
Central Pennsylvania is something like 0.2% black. Penn State always struggles to recruit black kids because frankly they just don’t want to go up there.
My college did that. The same one black guy who attended there appeared 3 times in every brochure.
Of course, if the school DIDN’T place minority faces in the brochure in a prominent manner, they would be attacked for not reaching out to minorities.
“My college brochure showed everyone either working in some super high-tech laboratory or hanging out on the green with my diverse group of friends”
- Can’t remember who said that.
It’s not just colleges. Look at recruitment brochures that businesses put out - the people pictured tend to be young (with possibly a token older “mentor” type, usually an ethnic minority or woman - or both) and a mix of non-whites and females.
Diversity never produces the best. Only the BEST produce the BEST. Hoping for that first Amish NFL coach are we????????????? LOL!
I guess the real question here is who really picks a college for its “diversity?”
My daughter is a high school senior, and needless to say, we’ve been inundated during the past year with college brochures. Most of them feature pictures of happy-looking students at work or play, and yes: on average, they tend to be dominated by images of black women, white women, and Hispanic-looking males.
My son is looking at engineering colleges. The makers they send feature an overwhelming preponderance of young ladies. As if boys are not really welcome. It infuriates my wife
I got “Diversity” messages, photo ops, articles, etc all over alumni sites, brochures, dignitaries in town, etc. Then I see commencement speeches by Uppity Whites about it. Blah blah blah . .
And yet the stats still show underperformance. Just leave it alone, let the qualified ones come, do their best but no begging, no phoniness, no hypocrisy, no special help. All you’re doing is alienating others and creating false senses of self worth and Lookitme !
The college brochures are rather hilarious. If you were to judge colleges by brochures there isn’t a single white male person attending college. They are so flagrant you have to think the media directors must be laughing to themselves.
Free Press my white butt.
There are booklets here (and many places) that advertise apartment homes. I noticed that almost all these properties had pictures of vacated swimming pools (like I was only interested in swimming, not living there). So, one day I asked my apartment manager why there are never people in the photos and she said that if they showed only white people at the pool, the NAACP and other groups would come around alleging discrimination but if they showed minorities at the pool, the whites stopped applying there.
The “solution” was to show no people at all.
I bet you can’t find a college brochure that doesn’t have the word “diversity” in it.
