I have a couple of copies of that song on 78 rpm on the DECCA label.You can tell from the sound of the band that it is a ‘period piece’, very 1920’s early 1930’s.

Never really knew the vintage of the song, but it always struck me as one of those really old-time 1910s era songs that got revived (like so many did) in the 30s/40s big-band era. There’s a certain delicateness to the lyrics that is more reminiscent of that earlier time, compared to the contemporary pop tunes of the 30s/40s.
