Dr. Sproul’s commentaries are very Pastoral and are essentially a collection of his sermons on the various books of the bible. I find them very similar to the commentaries of James Boice. Easy to understand but you aren’t going to get any deep exegesis. Well worth reading.

I second your comment. They are indeed pastoral and worth reading. And I miss Dr. Boice. I have learned much through his sermons and writings.

Anyone know if Dr Boice’s sermans are still available for streaming online? Used to actually hear him in Philly! Radio in area now is very poor. Would love to study under Sproul, though. Audited a class at Wheaton with Merril C Tenney. What an experience!

Not sure why you would say ...’you won’t get any deep exegesis’....with Sproul.
In my opinion, that is essentially what Sproul is about!

Discovered him & his wonderful teaching series 25 years ago......have also heard him in person at the Ligonier Conferences.

He delights my soul!
