Lee Bright: My Story (South Carolina GOP Senate Candidate)
Fitsnews ^ | Dec. 13, 2103 | Lee Bright

Between 2007 and 2011, there were over 43,000 bankruptcies just in South Carolina. That number grows substantially when you include businesses that failed or closed-up even if they did not end in a technical bankruptcy. Unfortunately, my own business was one of them.

I like the guy and contributed to his Senate campaign but unfortunately he is toast. In the article he blames everyone except the wicked witch of the North for his business problems. Linseed will tear him to pieces if he gets as far as a runoff. Is there anyone else who can take on Graham?

With due respect, that's an absurd description of what Mr. Bright wrote. He simply outlined the history as it happened.

Good point. Now, the policy changes he proposes subsequent to that history should be the criteria upon which his campaign is judged.

“He simply outlined the history as it happened”

Whatever. The fact is Mr. Bright’s business problems are bad news for his Senate candidacy.

I despise Graham and will support with money anyone who has a reasonable chance to defeat him. IMO Bright does not.

Is there anyone else running who has a chance?

Bright has dominated the polling and the forums among the challengers so far. As to dooming his candidacy, I doubt it. This story is not new. It’s been unfolding since 2006. If you don’t think this positions him to uniquely understand what problems our govt causes business, then so be it.

I submit it does.

You ever started and run a business? And I don’t mean some little LLC for tax purposes…I mean a business that involves lots of workers and lots of capital infusion. Ever done that?

I think it’s more that he will inherently understand what government growing programs to vote against…..his voting record in the SC Senate is spotless!

What are your reasons for supporting her?

I took a look at her but her political resume is thin to be taking on an entrenched incumbent with $millions to smear her before she can introduce herself to the voters.

Sorry, I don’t believe you contributed to his campaign. And there can realistically only be a runoff if there are more than two candidate in the Republican primary so you likely know there are other candidates.

If we really want to defeat RINOs such as Graham, we had better be avoiding saying negative things against ANY of Graham’s challengers since a vote for ANY of them is a vote toward forcing a run-off. I’d recommend you find a Graham primary challenger (any of whom would be heads and shoulders above Graham) YOU could support and support him/her. We should save negative comments in that race for Little Lindsey Graham. Let’s not as conservatives form circular firing squads blasting away against other conservatives. 2014 has the makings of a VERY good year for the Tea Party; let’s not blow it.

There you go again, taking a shot against one of Graham’s challengers and no shot at Little Lindsey Graham. I looked at your post history (going back to September 25, 2013) and noticed that you had negative comments about various challengers of RINOs. VERY interesting.

All I can say is I'm glad I didn't start my business anytime after 2007.

Starting your own business is hardly easy to do; I remember getting a card in the mail congratulating me that I had made it after ten years and that I was one in ten left who started when I did in my field. That was in the late 80's when business was flourishing and freedom was ringing.

I can't imagine how difficult it would have been to be new in Bammy's economy, with the anti-business climate that has sprung up, with the regs and the public opinion turned upside down by the MSM/Hollywood complex. I have heard nightmare after nightmare from people that were every bit as talented as I was, but simply got nailed during the past five years.

I will read Mr Bright's story later when I get the time, but an entrepreneur who failed might be the story of a new Lincoln who overcame adversity, we shall see.......

That is precisely what I am trying to do. But that does not mean sticking my head in the sand and not looking at the negatives of the candidates. You can be sure that Graham and the Democrats will.

I do not live in SC so it is hard to get news about the primary. AFAIK there are three challengers: Lee Bright, Richard Cash, and Nancy Mace. Is anyone else running?

There have been, and will continue to be, numerous threads on Free Republic concerning Lindsey Graham and his challengers. Search & the Internet are your friends.

I will paraphrase an old saying to illustrate the policy that I follow when a RINO is being challenged by conservatives in a “run-off” primary State—”If I don’t have anything good to say about a particular conservative challenger in that primary race, I don’t say anything about the challenger.”

I revel in taking shots at Little Lindsey Graham. I also don’t live in South Carolina, but I have contributed financially to two of Graham’s challengers. I believe that if Little Lindsey is forced into a run-off, he will lose that run-off as all the conservative voters and late-deciders consolidate around the surviving challenger.
