Oh, but Michigan’s alleged Republican governor (really an undocumented demoncrap) Snyder bit. Oh yes, hey, he told us, its free federal money to pay for the enhanced medicare exchange. His sycophants in the NOT Taxed Enough Already Party are busy singing kumbayah and pointing out that hey, now everybody will be EQUALly SCREWED, and it will be FAIR. Snyder has a plan when it falls on its ass, he’ll just raise taxes on the rest of the pensioners he’s not currently taxing and raise fees on everything that moves or doesn’t move. But hey, its FAIR and EQUAL.
Look for the clown to be on the spineless weasel ticket with Christie’s in 2016 if we don’t get lucky real soon.
It was one vote in the Senate. Senator Pat’s bill ( Free Market Reforms of which I have posted about adinfinitum ) went that far. Haven see him speak in the public square he hasn’t given up yet that they will @ revisit his idea by default IMHO as they will need it to contain cost. That is a big if, if Obamacare doesn’t derail the entire system to the point their are competitive insurers left to partake in competition...
The 2:1 ratio is deceptive. Everyone who signed up for Medicaid actually has it. No one (not those who put the private insurance in their shopping carts, nor the insurance companies, nor even the ObamaCare administrators) knows how many intend to pay and have actually paid for real insurance. I'd guess the true ratio is 6:1 but even that may be overstating it. This system is in for a catastrophic failure - as planned.

Another interesting stat.....
Here in Washington state as of December 1st:
Medicaid - 160,000
Obama-Policy, paid first month - 20,000
In Washington state, as of December 1st, just 20,000 paid their first month.
Compare that to 160,000 enrolled in Medicare for the same time period.
Better - beginning in 2017 the federal government pays 90% of the total, but just for people who were previously ineligible for Medicaid.
Worse - and here is the reason so many states decided to opt out.
There are millions of people who were eligible for Medicaid BEFORE ObamaCare passed, but they never signed up.
The expectation is that most of those people will apply now since all you have to do is go on the Internet and fill out an application, no appointments or interviews or document reviews necessary.
For those people, the states will be charged the traditional rate.
Almost all the states pay 40%-50% of the old Medicaid bills.
Only a few states pay below 40%.
Plus, the “new” Medicaid has more mandatory coverage, so the cost per patient will go up, too.

The problem is that Medicaid disappears when you no longer qualify for it (i.e. get a pay increase).
When you get a job, you might lose the Medicaid.

Seriously; THEY ARE SIGNING UP PEOPLE AT THE HOMELESS SHELTERS to boost their numbers...this is from last week.
And why wouldn’t people sign up for Medicaid instead of odumbocare? Anything with odumbo’s name on it has got to be God awful.

Amazing. Proof once again of the old saw that the market for free stuff is infinite. Most of that 160,000, I’ll wager, are just adults who are now eligible for Medicaid, whereas it was previously limited to children and mothers.
So, roughly 85 percent of the enrollments could have been accomplished by a one page bill. Had Obiecare been repealed, and that one page bill passed in its place, we’d have had an actual increase in the newly insured without the increase in the newly uninsured.
It's also likely that most of the people signing up for Medicaid need some type of medical treatment right now, which will further skew the finances of ObamaCare.
Our Republican leadership, of course, is STILL passively watching this unfold.
For $200 billion a year, we could have bought or subsidized REAL health insurance for everyone who could not afford it - end of story.
If the GOP had pounded that obvious fact from the first day, we would not be watching this catastrophe unfold.
Agreed. A dozen years ago, a proposal was being circulated in California to provide real insurance to everyone who filed a tax return. It had the advantage of addressing the major issue (getting wiped out by getting sick) while acting as an incentive for paying taxes, and being something the administration would sign off on. The left shot it down. They wanted single payer, and they didn't care if their constituents suffered because of their refusal to adopt a practical policy. As a rule of thumb, they'll trumpet a problem but oppose any solution but their own. Republicans could hang that around their necks if they wanted to, but they're unable to mount a cohesive attack to take advantage of the left's willingness to sacrifice its supporters to its ideology.
