Americans tend to think of Japanese and Chinese culture as “almost” the same. Really very different in many ways. Attitude towards cleanliness just one example.
First words I ever heard out of Sarah Silverman’s mouth, I wished I could urinate napalm.

It’s not that uncommon, I’ve seen it a few times, but the first time I ever noticed it was a woman named Betty (I think it was that) Lawless, she was the head of the board of elections in Hudson County. I’m sure Ms. Lawless was a fine, upstanding woman, but it did seem quite amusing in a place renowned for voting by the deceased, etc.
I also saw a very odd name once: Forgotson, that’s probably the oddest I’ve seen.
I guess you are right about the oldest professions, I’ve always thought ‘messenger’ is a very old job too. I used to make jokes about that when I worked for a messenger service!
And Micheal Savage is a nut (he kind of lives up to his name), but I heard a great rant by him once, saying how the feminists and planned parenthood should all go over to the Muslim world and tell those folks to start killing their babies, see how that would go over. I loved it!
I saw an article from Sweden saying that you will know if a typical Swede is mad at you if you get a nasty little note from them talking about the problem. The madder they are at you, the less likely your name will be used in the letter. The note will be very impersonal, and they would be livid.
I’m coming up on 15 years here. I took a good year and a half away from here, just because there were were too many idiots.

I always liked what Michael Savage had to SAY, it's just the UNRELENTING, unmitigated flow of Jeremiad that I couldn't bear to listen to anymore.

Shock artists deserve no respect. Especially ones that bash Christianity. Why not Islam??? Never Islam. Why could that be?
As far as Silverman, she’s just another nasty angry liberal in the club with Sandra Bernhard, Rosie Odonnell, Rachel Maddow, Whoopie Goldberg...on and on.
