Colorado Democrat fires gay aide allegedly for visiting Republican office

Tyler Drum, a 21-year-old homosexual aide to Democrat state Senator Irene Aguilar, was fired on the spot from his position in the Colorado Senate because he allegedly visited the office of a fellow college aide who happens to work for a Republican.

Drum, a 2013 graduate of Colorado State University, told Campus Reformthat Aguilar did not explain why he had been fired.

“She just said leadership was uncomfortable with me befriending Republicans,” Drum said.

Drum took the aide position after completing Colorado State University's capitol internship program, a class designed to teach students about the legislative process.

“Partisanship runs much deeper than I thought,” Drum said. “There is no real interest in compromise.”

Now unemployed, Tyler joins the over 12% of 20-24 year olds unable to find employment.

Afraid they might wise up and leave their party I’d guess.

Not everything you learn in college comes in the classroom. Too bad he already graduated. Which leads to a question; why would a college grad take an intern position in the first place? Sounds like something a student would be doing as part of their course load.

Because nothing else is available, he had connections, and the pay beats Mickey D’s?

Democrats are like the dysfunctional family of an alcoholic or drug addict. They have “family secrets.” Those secrets must never be mentioned outside the family and are ignored inside the family; other than, “Billy, go bring daddy his ‘medicine.’” The official acted in the same way a drug abuser would react if his son befriended the kid of the cop next door.

May I ask the obvious? What does the aide’s sexual orientation have to do with this story?

I fail to see the relevance of the young man’s sexual proclivities. Is the writer suggesting that the canning is more heinous because the fellow is a homosexual?

Why is it necessary for us to know the sexual proclivities of the aide?

If it had been a Republican that fired him it certainly would be.

I have no idea.

However, we can use that to our advantage by taking a page out of the dnc handbook of deceit:

“The democrats hates gays!”

So typical. Freedom of assembly has no place in a lib’s sick mind.

The intern explains it all in the comments section. As to his homosexuality, apparently he once worked with Log Cabin Republicans which was found out by his employers. He also has to deny that he was a mole! Seems he was just an ordinary person interested in both sides of the issues.

It denotes his ‘specialness’ as compared to the rest of us drones.
