Peter King: NSA Should Monitor Congress in Case They’re ‘Talking to an Al Qaeda Leader’
Mediaite ^ | 1/5/2014 | Noah Rothman

Appearing on Fox News Channel on Sunday, Rep. Peter King (R-NY) dismissed members of Congress calling for the National Security Agency to reform its information gathering practices. He insisted that even members of Congress should be monitored by the NSA, just like every other American, in case they are “talking to an Al Qaeda leader in Iraq or Afghanistan.”

I might agree with Representative King, if he would agree to wear a straight-jacket or to retire.

Pete liked terrorist as long as they claimed to be Roman Catholic. International terrorism was just peachy as long as they were blowing up churches on Sunday morning.

He just didn't like them doing it in his neighborhood.

Secure homeland? Not so much.

Secure Pete? Yep.

Pete out of control? You bettcha!

'“We must pledge ourselves to support those brave men and women who this very moment are carrying forth the struggle against British imperialism in the streets of Belfast and Derry,” Mr. King told a pro-I.R.A. rally on Long Island, where he was serving as Nassau County comptroller, in 1982. Three years later he declared, “If civilians are killed in an attack on a military installation, it is certainly regrettable, but I will not morally blame the I.R.A. for it.”

LOL! He’s actually acknowledging that AQ has some little helpers here. If he’d been braver, he would have said that NSA should be monitoring the WH for conversations with AQ.

He’s right the Congress, the administration and the judiciary should live under the same pall of omnipresent observation that they have cast over us, their subjects. No citizen no matter what their title nor the amount of their wealth should be above/beyond the law. The original promise of America was that all would be equal before the law with no special privilege for anyone for any reason. And it was that way at one time. It’s sad to know how far we have drifted from our origins.

It may be that Pete sees his career sliding unstoppably toward an ending date, sometime soon, and he wants to stave off irrelevance. Diane Feinstein is going through the same 11th Hour Night Panic with her failed Assault Weaponry Ban proposal. Peter King must be careful not to burn any remaining bridges to future GOP leaders any more than he already has. Here lately, I’m starting to wonder if Harry Reid doesn’t have Pete on some kind of retainer payout, so long as he slams his own side in the public press, like McCain prefers to do.

All Peter King communications need to be monitored (until we can prove a negative, that he is doing nothing wrong).

There's no telling what he may be up to.

Levin on CSPAN2 this afternoon said it perfectly (as usual and without a TelePrompTer). What the NSA is doing by collecting phone calls to solve terrorism would be like a New York detective going first to the Manhattan phone book for clues in a murder case.

Frankly, I don’t care one whit about security; I want freedom!

A free society that has arms never gets invaded...

Look at the Swiss, they were the only country not invaded in WWII in Europe... Why is that I wonder.....????

A free people = free to have arms = very hard to invade.
