Surprised that the 49ers squeaked out a win over in GB. So am I. They should've beaten GB by a bigger margin.

Panthers put an end to Niners dreams this coming weekend. We'll see. The Panthers didn't have to face Crabtree last time around.

Denver has by far the NFL’s best passing offense. They also have one of the NFL’s worst defenses against the pass. They are beatable. I think one of these other top teams could take ‘em. But statistically, Denver is the best and a favorite to win it all. Personally, I think Seattle, Carolina or SF could take ‘em, maybe New England also.

The Niners almost lost yesterday to GB because they don't seem to realize that the Niners are the NFL's third worst passing team while on the other hand they are the NFL's third best running team. They did against GB exactly what they did last year in the Super Bowl. At first & goal, with a powerful running game that almost certainly could have scored a TD, they instead went to the pass losing the Super Bowl last year and getting a FG yesterday. They continue to try to pass way too much and rely instead on their top-notch defense to pull them out of the fire.
Until the Niner brain trust gets a better handle on their strengths and weaknesses and until they develop an effective ball-control, short-passing game, the Niners are contender material but not champion material.

I am just happy that Payton Manning is able to play again. Thought he had to call it a career because of health issues a few years back.

He seems like a good guy and unless the Niners are playing them, I’ll probably root for Denver, who before Manning I never really liked very much for some reason.

A healthy GD team would have beat the Niners. Rodgers was as rusty as a tin can.

No team can easily beat the Niners with that defense, but they are definitely beatable.
