Gene Sperling, the director of President Barack Obama’s National Economic Council, said Sunday that Obama is offering congressional Republicans “a grand bargain on jobs. He has said he would be willing to do corporate tax reform that lowers rates to 28 percent, simplifies taxes for small businesses, but do it together with a major infrastructure investment.”
In his budget proposal last year, Obama called for $50 billion in additional short-term federal spending on infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, and mass transit systems, as well as creation of a National Infrastructure Bank to make loans to such projects.
“The economy is improving” and “we’ve had a lot of momentum,” Sperling said on NBC’s Meet the Press, but there are still “people who are desperately looking for work.” He said, “We have to admit – and we do admit -- that the worst legacy of this great recession is the crisis of long-term unemployment.”

Yes. The key to the Obama plan is the “Bank”. I don’t see where there are any limits on the bank to be created. The bank could litterally do helicopter drops of money on anyone or any country it choses in any amount all backed by the USA.
Does that $50 billion include the XL pipeline?
Yes, I know the pipeline is private money, and, will not cost the government anything, except, growth, employment and reliable supply of oil. All, things dumBO and the Bolshies do not want.

Agree. It is time to read Spin Cycle by Howard Kurtz again. If you missed it the first time(during the Clinton years)it is about how the White House and the media manipulate the news.
Ideas floated publicly first are for publicity, not deal making. Of course our Rinos will probably bite hook line and sinker and totally nullify their 2014 election advantage before mid-summer.

This slop ends in revolution, or maybe, possibly, in catastrophe, like a meteor or a super volcano, but almost certainly in a revolution.
