As lawmakers get ready to settle back into their seats on Capitol Hill after the Christmas recess, the battle over the extension of unemployment benefits is back on the table.

For months, in an effort to shift focus away from Obamacare, Democrats have argued that the economy is recovering and that jobs are being created.

But if this is the truth, then why is it necessary to continue the extension of unemployment benefits? Here's Harry Reid's push for an unemployment benefit extension on CBS Face the Nation Sunday.

If you subsidize something (unemployment), you get more of it.

Ask Harry Reid if the jobs are improving. If so we don’t need any more unemployment. If not, why isn’t this administration doing something about it?

We don’t need unemployment benefits. We need jobs.

First the lightweight socialist Murray rolls VP wannabe Ryan and now Harry POS Reid echoes the talking points after head totalitarian spewed them. Who didn’t see this scenario unfolding as Pelosi went on the same attack soon after “bipartisan” dog and pony show?

The plunder continues unchecked, unchallenged from both events as the elites live large…

Now, legal plunder can be committed in an infinite number of ways. Thus we have an infinite number of plans for organizing it: tariffs, protection, benefits, subsidies, encouragements, progressive taxation, public schools, guaranteed jobs, guaranteed profits, minimum wages, a right to relief, a right to the tools of labor, free credit, and so on, and so on. All these plans as a whole — with their common aim of legal plunder — constitute socialism.

Nearly all of us saw it coming I'm sure. But Republicans will vote for it. If they don't they'll be publicly shamed, scourged and browbeaten as uncaring, greedy, elitist and all the other negatives that come so easily to liberal lips when lying about Republicans. With an election this Fall they'll quickly fall into line.

I am going to be amused to see how many leftists vote Republican, because I am really starting to hope that conservatives stay home

I think we should invent our own jobs. We pick out a state maybe Texas and move at the same time. Take over all elective positions thru sheer weight of numbers. Fire all the gov deadbeats and start over. We get rid of all taxes other then a sales tax, mainly to let the tourists pay for the gov and invite any kind of business in that wants to work in a state friendly to business. We get rid of all taxes the Feds impose by refusing to collect them and forgo any funds from the Swamp. Make drugs legal and free and any way you want to make a living also legal. No lottery, as no one in Ky. can even tell you where the money ends up that was to supposed pay for the schools. No one votes unless they own property and can pass a civics test. Every elective position is term limited. Only good looking women can run for office. We have our own border patrol and stop the Mexicans and liberals from crossing. We bring back hanging in the public square.

I can load the car and leave in 6 hours. Let me know when the invasion starts.
