If everyone is armed idiots will be less likely to pull stunts. The government assumes that their “children” aren’t mature enough to be able to pull triggers the same way they do.
Much to the chagrin of Democrats here....Milwaukee’s sheriff has said the same thing.
If LEAs or Feds are worried about the CCL holder’s competency in handling his weapon and the decision making process on when to draw a weapon they should just allow the states / markets to create better training programs and standards..

Should have thought of this prior to the ‘67 riots and other shenanigans that caused Detroit to go from an early 20th-century powerhouse into a 3rd-world dumpster on par with Beirut.

Sounds like the sheriff is one of the few that has not jumped onto the Darwin gun control wagon ... good to hear.
I was unaware of how high the hurdles were to own guns there. Having the Detroit Police do anything for you could be pretty sketchy, if they wanted to keep the gun for a few days it's questionable whether you'd ever see it again.
This guy is doomed. He’ll lose his job in 2014. The good news is, he will gain a job from some more realistic city the next year.
