Yep. My boss pretty much gave a pass to anybody who didn’t want to brave the cold today. I was planning on going to work. I’ll be at the hospital instead. They put him on an IV drip with meds to slow the heart down. His pacemaker kicked in when the heart rate got too low a couple of times. He looked good and was in good spirits when I left him last night. I took him a Subway hoagie and a coffee. He hadn’t eaten all day. Food service was shut down due to the time. Nurse just pretended she didn’t see it.
Oh - the dog; Got home around 10:30. Put dog on the lead outside. Looked out a minute later and he was gone. I was out there on the street in minus 3 temps chasing the dog. The neighbors must think I’m certifiable! He eventually came home. He was out on the porch. I had the door open to coax him in (he wanted me to chase him). He just looked at me. So I called the cat (here kitty, kitty, kitty) because he’s jealous of her. He came in right away! lol!
After all that I'm surprised you are up this early! You are going to feel it eventually.
Meanwhile without getting into the "when I was a kid and going to school" stuff...
It's cold...dang cold. Often I've been outside walking to work in this kind of weather. There have been times when power outages cut heat to the house so we huddled in one room to keep warm. The one thing that always got us through it was thinking about Washington's army at Valley Forge.
It was just as cold, maybe colder. They didn't have a warm place to get away from the weather. They were lucky if they had a little food. Some didn't have warm clothes or even shoes. But they endured, fought and won our Republic.
That has been a huge inspiration for this family!
LOL!! dumb dogs!
