Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) has said he will remain neutral in GOP primaries against Senate incumbents, but his dad is getting involved on behalf of a key House primary challenger.
Rafael Cruz, who might be more outspoken than his son on conservative causes, is backing activist Katrina Pierson, a primary challenger to Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Tex.).
From the Dallas Morning News:
On Monday, Cruz, the father of Sen. Ted Cruz, endorsed the Garland Republican in her bid to beat incumbent Pete Sessions in the March primary for the 32nd Congressional District seat.
Shes a strict constitutionalist. Shes a strong conservative and she wants to do whats right, Cruz said at a Dallas fundraiser for Pierson.
Ted Cruz, whom Pierson supported for Senate against Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, has not made an endorsement in the race.
The endorsement by Cruz's father should help Pierson, who endorsed Cruz's 2012 Senate bid, gather attention as she wages an uphill battle to unseat Sessions.
The tea party group FreedomWorks has also backed Pierson, but she raised a modest $36,500 in her first quarter as a candidate.
Cruz made news a couple months ago when video surfaced of a 2012 event at which he said he wanted to send President Obama "back to Kenya" -- a reference to claims that Obama wasn't born in the United States.

Ted Cruz Ping!
If you want on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Please beware, this is a high-volume ping list!
Good. She’d be a vast improvement.
Good!
I’ll bet she wins!!!
Cruz Ping!
Lest anyone forget, this is what the supposedly conservative Jeff Sessions said in voting to confirm Eric Holder:
“Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, for example, said he was sure that Mr. Holder would be a responsible legal officer and not a politician.”

whoops wrong Sessions.
he needs to be primaried too
i met her at a TP boot camp a few years back. She is smart, tough and a strong conservative.
I think Alabama was the only state to have both of its senators vote with Cruz and Lee.
Alabama GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions filed an amendment late Monday to restore money that was cut from veteran and military retiree pension benefits by closing a loophole that allows illegal immigrants to qualify for child tax credits.

My opinion is keep Sessions. I was sure loving Alabama when the two senators stood with Cruz and Lee! Alabama had reason to stand proud, that’s for sure.
I have to tell you I have always liked Jeff Sessions. He speaks out all the time and I think its unfair to try to paint him as a RINO.
Oh please.....
note: Rep. Pete Sessions, not Sen. Jeff Sessions.
Senator Jeff Sessions has been stellar every step of the way, standing by Ted Cruz. It did a lot to enhance the legitimacy of what Cruz is working to achieve in the US Senate and for the country.
“whoops wrong Sessions.”
On the whole, Jeff Sessions votes conservatively. He mostly stands with Cruz. I want to keep Jeff Sessions in the Senate. Rep. Pete Sessions (Texas) is another matter. Glad Cruz is backing his opponent in Texas.
“Senator Jeff Sessions has been stellar every step of the way, standing by Ted Cruz. It did a lot to enhance the legitimacy of what Cruz is working to achieve in the US Senate and for the country.”
I agree!
It’s the reason the WaPo printed the headline this way
Jeff sessions is on our side
“On the whole, Jeff Sessions votes conservatively. He mostly stands with Cruz.”
That’s like saying a murderer doesn’t kill all people.
Did you read what Sessions said about Holder??? This is a AG that is censored by Congress.
How is Sessions still believable if he has not printed a retraction of that statement he made on his confirmation?
“Jeff sessions is on our side”
Really? Means his buddy Eric Holder is too.
I can stop laughing at that comment you made.
