There are many vineyards along the shores of Lake Erie. The lake provides the right temperatures and growing season for Riesling grapes. You can see grape vines everywhere along The NY state thruway as you drive beside Lake Erie between the PA border and Buffalo.
The wines produced in that area are not necessarily cheap.

IIRC, after the first few airings, they changed the song in the background.

Gin: the only liquor I know that tastes better coming back up that when it is going down.

Abstaining from alcohol doesn’t make you live longer - it just feels that way. :)

“No Old Overholt on the chart. I must be too drunk to vote.”
Nor Old Grand-Dad, the favorite of 007 when in the U.S.

Jim Beam is on that chart, near the line almost all the way to the right.
And how can you even stand Evan Williams? That stuff is nasty.
To: Cletus.D.Yokel
That FR has a ‘bourbon list’ pretty much says it all.

I’ve heard a story that when someone complained to Lincoln about Gen. Grant’s drinking, Lincoln remarked that they should find out what brand of whiskey he drank and give it to the rest of the Union’s generals.

Democrats go for the sicky-sweet drinks, Republicans like their liquor dry.

Aninteresting side note:
Would the media compose a chart of “politically preferred” types of MJ?

Evan Williams (especially the green bottle) is an acquired taste. I acquired it when I was young and poor... Just always be sure to mix it with something with flavor, not water...
However, they do have a single barrel version (about $25 a bottle here in OK) that it is quite drinkable.
To: LaRueLaDue
All I’ve ever had was their cheapest stuff. Even mixed with something, it was borderline undrinkable. I guess I’ll have to check out their better offerings.

I’m up there with the high Republicans. Thank goodness, I would have dumped my libation had it been a liberal one.
My liberal sister-in-law seriously drinks wine but as long as it’s wine, doesn’t matter the maker.

Well, FR doesn’t “have” a bourbon list.
FR provides band width for Cletus to maintain a ping list related to “bourbon” topics.
Y’all calvinist/babdists need to lighten up.

The single barrel is okay. It helps that it is 90-some proof. (I like the higher alcohol content liquors.) But, Evan Williams has its own distinctive taste: you either like it or not, not much in between. If you are used to something smooth, this is not it.

I see where the Loons are.

Son, never trust a man who doesnt drink because hes probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. Theyre the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. Theyre usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that theyre a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You cant trust a man whos afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. Its damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when hes heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl. ― James Crumley
