Great. Back to Jimmy Carter and 55mph. The uniform speed limit was proposed by and signed into law by President Nixon on January 2, 1974

I do remember waiting on LONG gas lines during Nixon/Ford....then in 79 under Jimmah.
Jimmah was the worst president....till NOW.

My understanding is that they (Cuomo and the democRATS) want it to revert to 55MPH for the environment and safety.
