Go for it Vermont. That’s what Federalism is all about - everyone can learn from your successes or failures. I’m very skeptical, but certainly a small state has a better chance of success than the Federal Government forcing failure on everyone.

Who is going to pay for it? None of the people planning it have a clue.

I'm glad FOX is pushing this story.

The more it's promoted, the better the chances that someone like Bernie Sanders will run for the Dem nomination. It will serve to make the Dems look like the fruitloops they are.

Democrats' faith in ObamaCare has been shaken by the technical failures...

The dems don't care that it's an illegal piece of legislative excrement and crippling tax, only that it wasn't fully implemented on November 1'st with police dogs and truncheons.

I think Vermont should do this if that’s what the voters of Vermont vote for. Absolutely! And then we’ll see how well it works

But the thing that irks me is that Vermont could have already done this way before now? They did not need to wait until Obamacare was passed to do this. In fact, the State has been considering it for a long time. But now liberals are implying that Obamacare prompted this move or somehow made it possible?

Why?

States supposedly could pass any health insurance laws rules they wanted ... that is BEFORE Obamacare.

The savings, he said in a 2011 Health Affairs article, would come from tort reform for malpractice suits, better governance and lower administrative expenses.

LOL! all things that Liberals don't want to do at the national level.

I could see clinic-style medicine for those who choose that. The care would not include the more expensive choices, everyone would pay something, and cost would be based on ability to pay.

I think that's the type plan VT envisioned back awhile ago. Personally, I'd love an alternative such as that. For those with insurance, they'd go elsewhere or submit bills to insurance companies themselves.

Some experts say a revised system would save an estimated $580 million annually, and $1.9 billion by 2019. But the single-payer system’s creator, Harvard economist William Hsiao, says it could generate even greater profits for Vermont.

Hsiao predicts his plan would save the state 25.3 percent a year in total health care spending, lower household and employer health care spending, boost job growth and create a higher economic output for the state.

Were have I heard rosy predictions like this before? Promise lies, then fail to deliver.

It was about single-payer all along. Full nationalized health care is what the left wanted all along. Even some of them were candid enough to admit that Obamacare was set up solely to grease the skids for that goal.

We are governed by socialists. The U.S. has ceased to be a constitution republic and has become a fascist state run by socialists.

Kruschev was right. So was Norman Thomas. Both of them said that the U.S. would become a socialist state without a shot being fired.
