There are Christians who believe when Sharon dies, that will start the end times - the tribulation.
I am interested in this theory.
Why would God make Sharons death the catalyst for that?
I don’t know.
Date-setters always fail. The premise behind this nonsense is that Sharon “was the last right-wing statesman capable of bringing peace to Israel.”

Never mind the fact that he’s been in a permanent vegetative state for eight years.
Seems to me whenever Benjamin Netanyahu is PM, Israel is at peace. But it really doesn’t matter, becuase God’s timetable for concluding world history as we know it isn’t dependent on Ariel Sharon or Bibi.
A possible trigger for the rapture/tribulation/end times period is how Israel deals with Iran’s nuclear ambitions, and if the outcome leads to the events prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39. But none of us know the future...and it is possible such events, however they’re triggered, are still many years away.
Interesting; I know that many believe that this is the generation that is specially equipped to face the end times due to the technology we have (the ability to see the martyrdom of the Two Witnesses broadcast around the world for the entire world to watch) and believe that the establishment of the nation of Israel was when the clock started the countdown. Quite a few generations are supposed to pass after the establishment.
