A woman threw punches and kicked a United Airlines ticket agent at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, authorities said.

The incident happened on Tuesday, a day when many passengers were scrambling for flights amid the delays and cancellations caused by the frigid weather gripping much of the northern part of the country.

Since it was violence and perhaps a domestic flight, does this count as domestic violence against women?

“People appreciate a little kindness after a lot of abuse.”
Indeed, that has been my experience; I have never taken it out on an agent.
Yes, the morons are out there, but for the most part, it is rarely their fault.
My last ‘incident’ was having to approach a United agent who had an attitude as I started the conversation; she immediately became nearly apologetic once I expressed my understanding for the situation; got me on the next flight out with an upgraded seat (the flight had originated on a different airline).

Some passenger asked the gate guy what the hold up was, not confrontational, nothing physical, and they called the airport cops on him!

It doesn't take much. I was at Jacksonville International on Tuesday Morning learning that my 2nd flight to Dulles had been cancelled. (So far I'm at 4 and counting.)

An individual in line with me, a Chinese national, became vocally agitated. Not screaming, yelling or even shouting. Just upset. They called the cops on him. He wasn't arrested but the cops made it very clear that indeed he would not be flying anywhere that day.

The agent did give me an option to catch my connecting flight from Dulles to Dubai. He smiled and told me I could drive to DC and if I drove really, really fast, I might make it. Funny guy...

Thanks for the warning of how things are now. I wont talk directly to any of the landing crew, unless it’s just to say HI Anything negative, they may feel ‘threatened!.

Same happened to me in Vegas when my flight was cancelled because of a Hussein visit.
The obnoxious a-holes got to stay at the Motel-6 where as my polite self got to spend the night at the South Point Resort with a dinner voucher and a 500 dollar voucher for the two of us from Southwest for any future flight.
The one and only time I had ever been happy about the Obama.

I used to think the customer service barometer was driven by airline, but now I of a mind that it is driven mostly by location. USAirways, for example, in Pittsburgh (when it hubbed there) was helpful, but Philly? Assholes.

Northwest out of PWM, friendly. Detroit? Hostile, dishonest, lazy.
