Chicago has logged three homicides so far this year, as of Wednesday afternoon, according to preliminary police information.
((snip))
Forty-four homicides were logged in January 2013, tied with June for the fourth deadliest month of 2013, RedEye determined.
Meanwhile, December ended last week with 40 homicides, up from 27 homicides in December 2012, according to RedEye data. On the last day of the year, two homicides were logged.

What is not being reported in the lame stream media is the high crime rate escalation in the north west side of Chicago - Lakeview - which consists of Wrigleyville, Boystown and Lincoln Park. The blog Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown lays out the whole story. Scary. Something must be done. And soon...
What’s the fascination with Chicago crime stats? No other city gets singled out for this sort of thing. Chicago Lawn is a terrible area and has been for a long time.
Wrigleyville and Boystown is a lovely area - until the crime escalated in the last year. And Magnificent Mile is now known as “Mugger Mile” - Lincoln Park is upper middle class - now muggings in middle of the day.
What, only 40? Da bros musta run outta munitions.
It’s always nice to end the year up on a high note.
They need to dump Emmanuel, Police Commissioner McCarthy and Alderman Tom Tunney for a start.....
I am sure you know but I will post the reasons anyway
Chicago is 0dmnbo’s town
0dumbo’s boy is mayor
who is for MORE gun control but can’t handle the black on black killing in his own city
killing which BTW more fun control would not stop
0dumbo has yet to remind us that ANY of the victims could be his son daughter sister brother father mother
get it now?
“Something must be done. And soon”
Why? If there are any innocents there in danger they should simply do what the rest of us have had to do. MOVE!
Boy, that George Zimmerman gets around!
” Something must be done. And soon...”
They need more gun control to protect the people from lawless Tea Party vigilantes.
The majority of the nice folks who live in the north west area of Chicago - the Lakeview area which includes Wrigleyville, Boystown and Lincoln Park - are decent people -they do not deserve to have an area now with muggings in the middle of the day - I urge everyone to read the blog “Crime in Wrigleyville + Boystown” for a better explanation of the situation than I can describe. Why should criminals drive decent folks out of town?
They need more police in the area - as of the new year - the idiot mayor and the police commissioner announced they are taking cops out of the area - less cops now and there were not enough to begin with. More cops was how NYC got cleaned up after the Dinkens era.
No fascination, just an interest. Given that Chicago is the home of Hussein Obama and is currently being run by his former chief of staff, it's worth noting that both men have failed to control in any way the murderous Obama followers who inhabit that city, and how both men have remained relatively silent as the carnage reins.
I checked it out. Sad state of affairs which begs the question...........why the dramatic uptick in crime?
Excellent question - For what I have gathered there was a new “center” that opened up in Boystown last year - to assist those who well- take drugs, don’t work, etc. So that brought in people that don’t live in the area . Then Lakeview is a nice area with middle to upper middle class folks and apparently groups of criminals travel in cars around the area looking for victims - stop the car - two or three get out and beat the victim up and take victims’ money/Iphone - and then get back in the car and drive off. Did you read the article where the poor guy who got mugged has over $133,000 bills in medical expenses? And how about the girls that were attacked on the way to work? Also no police presence in the area. Very upsetting. No word from Emmanuel except the LIE that “crime is down” - bs.
