Adolf Hitler's anti-Semitic political testament "Mein Kampf" is surging up electronic book bestseller lists, even as sales of the printed version have been stagnant for years.
As of Wednesday, two electronic versions of "Mein Kampf" ranked 12th and 15th in the Politics & Current events section of the iTunes book store. On Amazon, Hitler's polemic ranked number one in the Propaganda & Political psychology section. There are currently six e-book versions of "Mein Kampf."
One explanation offered for the surge in electronic sales concerns the relative anonymity offered by e-books as compared to their printed counterparts.
"These are things that people would be embarrassed to read otherwise," journalist Chris Faraone, who wrote about the trend for Vocativ.com told ABC News. "Books that people would probably be a bit more embarrassed to read or display or buy in public, they are more than willing to buy on their Kindle, or iPads."
Faraone believes the phenomenon is similar to that surrounding erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey," which in 2012, became the first to sell more than 1 million copies on Amazon's Kindle e-reader.
"'50 Shades of Grey' is something you would probably be embarrassed to read in public," said Faraone, but added that the anonymity offered by e-readers ensures that readers with a latent interest in controversial subject matter can read the books freely without arousing suspicion....

I’d recommend “The Art of War”.
Well at least he didn't have a ghost writer.
A parting shot, or gift.
Although my books have not been compared to Mein Kampf (yet) they have been compared to The Turner Diaries (by a libtard hack in the Daily Beast out to discredit them by false association.)
He had an editor, by the name of Max Amann, who was Hitler's superior in World War I. His notable contribution was getting Hitler to change the title of his book. Originally Hitler wanted to title it "Four and a Half Years of Struggle Against Lies, Stupidity and Cowardice."
No. Muslims and Islamophiles love NAZIs.
Your books sir, are just unbelievable, like you have written history before the events.
Many thumbs up (well, so far, two).
Two possibilities:
1. Muzzlem schools assignment.
2. People want to see how Hitler compares to obama.
There is nothing wrong with reading it although I never did.
I do have “The Communist Manifesto” and read it while in grad school basically out of curiosity.
Far leftists might have discovered how much they have in common with Hitler and the fascists?
It was pure drudgery.
There was a copy online during the ‘90s. Don’t know if it’s still there. Not many people know that Hitler was an alter boy.
That's what I kind of thought. It seems like it would make for an interesting read -- something written by a brilliant angry psychopath -- who took over the greater part of Europe for a season. But then you have to say -- 'interesting, but not worth wasting time reading the thoughts of a madman'.
Kind of like the Koran. I actually have that one and have tried to read it a few times - but I never get past the first few chapters. It really is a small book -- but it provides nothing of value. Just venom, anger, and the 'good stuff' are obvious statements that could have been (and probably were) plagiarized from other religions. Too little time to waste on reading crap - so unlikely that I will ever get through it.
When I read these stories I think of Voldemort.
So was Stalin. They actually have quite a bit in common.
In the 1998 film “American History X”, in case you’re not familiar with it, one of the main characters (played by Edward Furlong) gets in trouble at school for doing a book report on “Mein Kampf”. Anyway, the movie tries as hard as possible to portray the neo-Nazi characters as right-wing Republicans. In one scene, a woman insults one neo-Nazi guy about his weight, and he replies with something like “Are you calling me a blimp you damn Democrat?”
