So why is Ferdinand Puentes wearing a U.S. Marshal’s cap in the water in one of the photos. Is he a U.S. Marshal? Or does the U.S. Coast Guard hand out U.S. Marshal caps during rescues?

Good question. If it's his, I find it interesting that he was able to keep it on during a plane crash and survival swim. Must be important to him.

After viewing this video. I see no reason why Ms. Fuddy would have died. Surely, the reporter interviewing him would have asked about the only passenger who died, Loretta Fuddy.
