House Republicans Preparing Plan for Immigration Overhaul By ASHLEY PARKERJAN.

January 8, 2014

WASHINGTON — The House speaker, John A. Boehner, and his Republican leadership team are preparing to release their principles for an overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws later this month, the speaker told his members at a closed-door conference on Wednesday.

Though the “standards or principles document,” as Mr. Boehner of Ohio referred to the white paper in the meeting, has long been in the works, its imminent release reflects a broader push within the Republican conference to put forth its own proposals as a counterpoint to legislation in the Democratic-controlled Senate.

House Republicans hope to release their principles near the end of the month before President Obama’s State of the Union address, as well as before their annual retreat. Republican aides had previously said that their leadership team was unlikely to make any strategic decisions on immigration before the retreat.

In June, the Senate passed a broad overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws — including a path to citizenship for the 11 million immigrants already in the country illegally — with bipartisan support. But the legislation has faced more hurdles in the Republican-controlled House, where some lawmakers are opposed to any form of legalization, which they call amnesty. House Republicans instead prefer a piecemeal approach, with several smaller bills instead of one large one.

We have learned that nothing deters their idiocy. I think most of us are just standing back and watching them self-destruct.

Obama being called “Liar of The Year” had NOTHING to do with the House letter.

And McCain’s employee, Fat Ana Navarro, mouthing off to Cong King on MTP made Americans even “fonder” of amnesty (snix).

Betcha dollars to donuts the language in the House letter was focus-grouped-—and determined to be the current mood of America WRT amnesty.

This is the NY Times people. They have been trumpeting Boehner’s ‘imminent’ action on immigration and his war on the Tea Party for weeks now. Every chance they get they try and drive the wedge deeper into the internecine GOP conflict.

It does look as if Boehner is going to introduce a bill for immigration reform. BUT UNTIL HE DOES IT DOES NOT EXIST!

Until then these NY Times provocateurs are merely carnival barkers.

Since when do the gop/e have any principles about anything... they are ALL immoral and unethical and corrupt to their core. All of you screaming for pushback are just going to have to wait until they publish their plan or YOU can start writing and calling them today. DO IT YOURSELVES... why do you have to have someone else do it? I have been doing it myself... and it feels good no matter if I am making a difference or not. Threaten them with all of us voting them into “obama’s economy”... they hate it like a Vampire hates Holy Water!

Time for the Tea Party to replace the repubs completely. The repubs have become nothing more that an extension of liberalism at its finest. I will vote for ANY Tea Party candidate that comes along.

Immigration advocates and Democrats will be watching closely to see how strict the border security and enforcement language is, as well as if the guidelines include any mention of a path to legalization...Else where in another debate..In immigration news: House reform ‘principles,’ lethal force at the border, reform opponents make their case, more

Numbers don’t back need for lethal force at border - Arizona Republic An analysis by the newspaper suggests that at least statistically, Border Patrol agents are much less at risk for assault than police officers. From the story: “In 2012, for example, local police and sheriff’s deputies in Arizona were five times as likely as Border Patrol agents along the Southwest border to be assaulted. And assaults on officers and deputies that year were twice as likely to involve firearms.”.... I do believe they they actually want to reduce border security as it deemed safer than Arizona, most likely Calif,Texas..I think the goal is to keep the borders wide open and care who or what comes into this country... How many border agents have been killed in Arizona ?http://www.scpr.org/blogs/multiamerican/2014/01/09/15564/in-immigration-news-house-reform-principles-lethal/
