The former Republican National Committee chairman told senior members of his party that he will challenge Democratic Sen. Mark Warner and will formally submit his candidacy next week, the Times said.

There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between GOP-E hack Gillespie and Rat Warner.

Not really. He will vote with the rest of the McConnell wing and won’t do a damn thing about it. Plus, there’s little chance he would beat Warner. If he was the nominee, I’d vote for him, but he’s a poor option.

There's enough difference that we wouldn't still have Obama as POTUS if Gillespie had 1) not joined in the GOP-E trashing of Sarah Palin, and 2) given Romney such crappy strategic advice as his "senior advisor" (not that I cared about Romney anyway).

So, NO SALE!!!

As a Virginia resident, I don’t see the state electing a conservative. There are too many nanny state supporters in the DC area. Couple that with the growing dependency on government handouts, making voting liberal progressive very attractive for the low information voters.

My stomach is already roiling at the thought of the pics that will be in the paper after the gubernatorial inauguration tomorrow .... McAwful grinning like the Cheshire Cat, standing next to Killary & Slick Willie. Barf.

I couldn't agree more and will make every effort to avoid seeing the inauguration that will mark the beginning of an unfolding tragedy for the state of VA.

And if somehow Gillespie gets elected, and that's a big if, he will do NOTHING serious to end ObamaCare.”

Ed Gillespie has the personality of a wet, used paper napkin, the spine of soggy pasta, and the inspirational ability to be able to put a stadium of rabid Patriot fans to sleep during a Brady 2 minute comeback.

Why not some real firecracker, why not Bill Cristol, ex-senator lugar, or linda grammy when she loses the SC primary?

I'll send no money to Virginia, not even if there is a Santa Claus.

Well, crap...just crap.
Here we go again...vote priniciples and get creamed or vote slimy, smarmy, GOP-e and get slightly creamed...
It’s principles for me and a lot of prayer...I’ve learned my lessons from McLame, Dole and Romney...

bushbot

That is a somewhat thin résumé for a Senate candidate.

But, if you want amnesty, zero interest rates forever and more Supreme Court justices like John Roberts, he's your guy.

I'm voting for Howie Lind at the Convention. Gillespie is just another RINO. We need a choice not an echo.

The reality is that VA is a purple state trending solid blue. Any Rep running will be a decided underdog. I support a real conservative like Howie Lind rather than Gillespie who is the Establishment's "Tom Davis" like candidate.
