Letter from Congress calls ATF sting tactics 'almost unimaginable"

Calling the ATF's tactics appalling, alarming, disturbing and "almost unimaginable," congressional members on Thursday slammed the agency for how it conducted storefront stings across the nation and renewed their demand for answers.

The sharply worded letter is the latest salvo from members of Congress to U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Director B. Todd Jones regarding the undercover operations.

Members of both parties have been demanding answers from the agency and Jones since last January when a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel investigation exposed a series of foul-ups and failures in an ATF sting in Milwaukee dubbed Operation Fearless.

Thursday's letter — signed by lawmakers who led the congressional probe into the agency's flawed Fast and Furious operation in Arizona — follows an investigation published by the Journal Sentinel in December that detailed how the ATF used rogue tactics in storefront stings across the nation, from Portland, Ore., to Pensacola, Fla.

You can’t give kids lots of toys and then expect them not to play with them, right? Well, they got lots of toys - weapons and hollow points.

Who gave them toys? They did.

Who paid for the toys? We did.

So, what sort of retaliation will Congress inflict on the BATF? Reduce their budget? Pass some laws limiting their authority?

Didn’t think so. Just wind.

I would say they cannot do a thing with Obama as President and Harry Reid in control of the Senate...

But then, I got to thinking. They are all upset because these were Black victims. Poor Black victims. Poor, mentally deficient, Black victims. It almost begs for Democrat action. Maybe if we can find that one of those poor, mentally deficient, black victims was also gay, lesbian, transsexual or bi.... Well they might feel like maybe they should do something...

Should people fear their gubamint here?

Sadly, it’s hard to respect it..

When it operates in such a detached mode..

Reflective of its leadership.

‘The sharply worded letter is the latest salvo from members of Congress...’

Oh my, not a sharply worded letter!!! LOL, Congress is worthless. They create these beasts only to play the surprised act when they inevitably go rogue. Heaven forbid they stop feeding it. That might be too decisive.
