A frontrunner for the award going to the most obvious media double standard of the week certainly has to be NBC reporter and Meet the Press host David Gregory.
Asking a question virtually no one in the press has asked about President Barack Obama in matters far weightier than Chris Christie's "Bridgegate," Gregory addressed the following tweet to New York Times White House Correspondent Peter Baker (HT Twitchy):
Gosh, I can think of another government chief executive to whom that question is far more relevant.
So can a lot of other tweeters who responded to Gregory's tweet (minor edits were done to certain of these tweets for clarity):

I'd say it's because he wouldn't like the answer.

The MSM actually believe the polls that claim Christie is the first choice of Republicans for president.
It will take another day or two for them to realize that not one serious Conservative in the entire country has come to his defense.
When they understand that millions of Conservatives will stay home on election day if Christie is the nominee, the MSM will completely “rehabilitate” Christie within a few hours.

Obama has minions scouriing through police records for dirt on “Joe the Plumber”, “rogue” IRS agents harassing members of “tea party” conservative and “patriot” groups, GM dealerdhips closed based on party contributions, et al and they don’t give a $#^@.
Christie ain’t no pal of mine however you can’t “disprove a negative” and Obama has done far worse without any concern from the presstitute journo’list media.
I can’t stand David Gregory but does anyone really believe Christy wasn’t alright with this....really!!
I read where Gregory and Meet The Press were potential candidates for the Chopping Block.
Mark Shields on PBS last night was trying his best to make this into a significant scandal, but only had innuendo to work with. They spent an inordinate part of the Friday politics segment on this topic.
