That is a very damn good point...
Also what if it was a private security officer that was responding to page from a faulty alarm system, he gets done responding to it and goes back to his car and notices that his gun took some damage when he dropped it trying to fix the disabled alarm, he is in his car with his gun messing with it then all of a sudden... blam blam blam blam... he is dead....
