The mayor of Houston, Texas, Annise Parker, is once again attacking 'Duck Dynasty' star Phil Robertson by calling him a “wingnut” and “completely irrelevant.”
Mayor Parker is one of the few openly gay mayors in the country.
Why Mayor Parker thinks anyone cares what her opinion is of the Louisiana TV star is another question, but Mayor Parker made the comments on Lone Star Q, a website that focuses on the gay scene in Texas.
Parker then took to her Twitter account to lash out again at Phil Robertson, to reiterate her point. “When i called Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty ‘a redneck wingnut whose views are completely irrelevant’ I was serious. Who cares?-A,” she said.I have never watched ‘Duck Dynasty,’ so I don’t think about it much at all. I’ve been a gay community activist since the mid-70s. It was a very different time. We were fighting to keep people out of jails and mental hospitals. What some redneck wingnut has to say about the GLBT community is completely irrelevant.
