White professors still dominate Bay Area colleges as student bodies grow more diverse

The high-profile bullying case of a black student has thrust San Jose State under an intense spotlight to improve the college experience for its minority students and diversify its predominately white faculty.

But an analysis of demographic figures by this newspaper shows that a lack of racial diversity in academia runs wide and deep: The South Bay campus' faculty is more diverse than other major Bay Area universities and the state's two university systems.

At San Jose State, 59 percent of the faculty are listed as white, although 10 percent of the professors didn't specify a race. The faculty at UC Berkeley, a campus that prides itself on its progressive identity, is 77 percent white. At Stanford, it's 74 percent. Across the state, 76 percent of the University of California's faculty and 68 percent of Cal State's are white.

I have read posts concerning diversity, ethnicity, color, gender, age and country of who are professors.
Why has there been not a SINGLE post, discussing the QUALITY of the rosters of University/college professors?
When I’m on the operating table, my concern is for the QUALITY of the surgeon, not giving a damn about his/her color, sex or favorite football team.
If in seat 16B in a jet with one engine out, I hope for the very best pilot, not caring as above.
Why is there NOT a discussion of QUALITY here?

i never though about the race or sex of my professors or teachers. all i cared about was their knowledge, ability to teach, and respect for all ideas. oh and in the country legally.

As long as liberal whites are the beneficiaries of the “poverty/race industry”, they’ll support it. When whites start losing these positions because of it, they’ll change their tune. Already happening with cops/firemen; whites can’t be hired for many of these jobs anymore.
