It's rather amazing that the nonsensical lines drawn by the English to divide up the Middle East with little regard to ethnicity, religion or tribal affiliations have lasted this long.

I wonder how much longer they can last. I wonder if they should last?

The moment one creates contiguous countries based upon ethnicity, instead of an array of civil wars you'll have wars between nations. That's an improvement, right?

Has the artificial construct of borders imposed on the locals in the Middle East and Africa worked out well? I don't have the answers.
