US and Russian foreign ministries have exchanged gifts before a talk regarding a Geneva 2 agreement.
Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov gave US state department spokesman Jen Psaki a pink Sochi Olympics-themed hat.
US secretary of state John Kerry presented Mr Lavrov with an Idaho potato.
The pictures were shared by the official Twitter account of the Russian foreign ministry.

Like the Russian NEEDED a potato? Seems to me the Russians lived on their own potato's during WWII. If gift giving is intended, how about something a bit more appropriate? Then again, odumbo gave Queen Elisabeth an ipod with his crap recorded on it. Yea, real classy bunch!

Russians survive on potatoes. I would consider Kerry’s gift an insult. What’s new. Our gift from Hillary was what??
To: cunning_fish
Is that a potato in your pocket or do you really love me??
To: Sacajaweau
the gesture was a slap at the Russians-
Think of ANYONE who would show up with a potato as a gift!!
THE MSM has not commented at all.... but they never do

Those Russian hats are wonderful. I got one on Arbat Street in 1993 - over 20 years ago. Cost me 25 bucks.
It's still in great shape - well made and very warm in the cold weather.
Kerry's potato "gift" was an insult.

I had a boyfriend who brought me an Orange in the winter as a Birthday gift....He said..."Brought you some Florida Sunshine". Those were the poor years.
An Orange would have made much more sense.
I'm remembering the corn in both hands with wifie whacked out on the train...It's a phallic symbol...I'm telling you!! He sure ain't no farm boy.

Some day, the grownups will be back in charge. Though I shudder to think what national convulsions we are going to have to endure in ridding ourselves of this Leftist clown college that has taken over our institutions.

Yep,
They tried to tell me the hat was made from "wolf" (волка).
There's a way to tell - something to do with the colors of the individual hairs in the fur - if it's the same color through the whole strand, or if it varies.
No matter. It's a great hat; I love it; looks good on me too!
