Apparently the thinking goes something like: Oh, but he really, really loves me. The woman I stole him from just did not understand him, was a harridan, etc., and didn’t deserve him.

And, BTW, the hospitalized woman did not wreck a marriage; Hollande was shacking up with the first woman.
