Brakes versus a go-around response seems to rule out instinct honed by carrier landings. The Taney county strip was about half length what they expected. Was the final tip-off a lack of commercial aircraft or facilities for such?

BTW it just took off a few minutes ago.
Reminds me of an old pilot joke where just after screeching to a stop the pilot says: “Damn... This runway is really short!” And the copilot turns and says “yeah, but look how WIDE it is...”
