I used to get the MLA style book for writing research papers. I didn’t realize they had a “radical wing”, or had a position on Israelis and the so-called Palestinians.
What’s next? Are Merriam-Webster, Encyclopedia Britannica, and Cliff’s Notes going to weigh in, too?

At first I thought the Modern Language Association was a fan club for a certain eighties new wave band — but then I realized I was misremembering the name of the group.
I had a friend who worked for the MLA shortly after graduation who, disgustedly, reported that the MLA had (or has) a policy where they do not hold their conventions in states or municipalities that have laws against sodomy. That’s the MLA.
