No, he never did. The furthest he got was “We’ll recognize Israel’s right to exist if they agree to all our demands” (paraphrased), which is the same thing Abbas always says as well. And since their demands include dividing Jerusalem, which is a stepping stone to their conquest of Israel anyhow, that’s not a real recognition of the Jewish state.

Israel should just say "screw it" to the Palestinians, take over control of the Temple Mount, and toss any Pali who gives them trouble over the wall into Gaza.
