NYT Pushes the Rising Tide of Climate Nonsense – This time in the Dominican Republic
Watts Up with That? ^ | January 14, 2014 | By Kip Hansen

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------snip----------------------------------------------

The story concerns Lago Enriquillo, in the very southwest corner of the Dominican Republic, and Lac Azeui, in the very southeast corner of Haiti, both on the island of Hispaniola.

Of course, as usual, the people mentioned in the story lived on the local mud flats, probably 50 or 100 year flood plains, right up to the edge of the water. . . Here are excerpts from the NY Times story…the usual unprecedenteds, suicide of a loved one, ‘must be climate change’, quite silly really, except for the local misery.

Rising Tide Is a Mystery That Sinks Island Hopes

By RANDAL C. ARCHIBOLD JAN. 11, 2014

“LAGO ENRIQUILLO, Dominican Republic — Steadily, mysteriously, like in an especially slow science fiction movie, the largest lake in the Caribbean has been rising and rising, devouring tens of thousands of acres of farmland, ranches and whatever else stands in its way.

Lago Enriquillo swallowed Juan Malmolejos’s banana grove. It swamped Teodoro Peña’s yuccas and mango trees. In the low-lying city of Boca de Cachon . . .

“Jose Joaquin Diaz believes that the lake took the life of his brother, Victor. Victor committed suicide, he said, shortly after returning from a life abroad to see the family cattle farm, the one begun by his grandfather, underwater.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------snip

In all this drama, the journalist for the NY Times, apparently writing from the comfort of Mexico City, where he is bureau chief for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, failed to mention the most important facts about Lago Enriquillo. It is famous for its ups and downs, water levels rising and falling with the rains and droughts.

Oh, and it is 140 feet below sea level. . .

From Wikipedia:

Known as the Cul-de-Sac Depression in Haiti and the Hoya de Enriquillo in the Dominican Republic, parts of the rift valley are below sea level and are covered by large salt lakes.

Lake Enriquillo covers an area of 145 square miles (375 km²),[1] and is the lowest point in the Caribbean, falling 148 feet (45 m) below sea level.[4]

the NYSlimes is not one to let facts get in the way of its political agendas; it would truly be surprising if it did.

Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud

Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.

From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.

The average PRESSTITUTE doesn't even have a technical education that exceeds high school and what they learned then, they have forgotten. It's child's play for the US government to float any story they want because the PRESSTITUTES think their job is to tell the little people what the government wants them to know.

One of Hussein Obama's important goals is to reduce green house gases and that means his radical leftist EPA scumbags are shutting down coal electric plants at an insane rate. The leftist useful idiots think that is a good thing but the real effect is skyrocketing electric rates. I've heard the average electric rates are up 25% while useage has decreased by 25%. The net effect of that will be a devastating blow to the economy that is already being attacked by Hussein Obama in other ways (fir example, Husseinocare which is designed to hurt the economy, not make things better in any way).

Hussein Obama, America's First Muslim President, is doing what Muslims do, they destroy. The presstitues are doing what they normally do, they report what they are told to report.

Hussein is laughing at Americans who will go down in history as the biggest collection of fools ever. As Hussein and his band of Muslim terrorists do everything they can to destroy our country, the people look to the presstitutes for answers.

The presstitutes at the NY SLIMES are not going to tell you who Obama is or who he is working for. Americans quit thinking years ago, they let the Presstitutes tell them what to think.

In the meantime, the Lake Erie (one of The Great Lakes) water level is going down.

Let me guess- that’s due to global warmign too?

The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulafft, at Bergen, Norway

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.

Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable. - Washington Post, November 2, 1922

Yeah, evaporation. Because it's so damned hot up here. Ha-ha-ha-ha.

Really, the increased desperation of the global warming crowd -- including our esteemed president who senses the window for a carbon tax closing rapidly -- is palpable.
