Obama to Congress: We're not waiting for legislation

President Barack Obama sent a message to Congress Tuesday: He plans to use his power whenever he can to move his agenda forward.

"We are not just going to be waiting for a legislation in order to make sure that we’re providing Americans the kind of help that they need," Obama said before a Cabinet meeting. "I've got a pen and I’ve got a phone -- and I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward."

Obama said he told members of his Cabinet the need to use all the tool available, not just legislation, to advance his mission.

Ignorance? Ignorance is thinking there is any way of restoring the Constitution without using parts of it.

If Romney had been elected, it would of been the same thing, they have the same bosses.

We should call our reps who are up for reelection and say if they don’t start talking impeachment we will vote for their opponents-which I plan to do anyway. Time for the Obamas to go live in Hawaii.

I will vote against Cornyn in the primary, however there was a brief article about Stockman in the DMN today and I didn’t like it. He no-showed a tea party event and blamed it on traffic. He went to another event, briefly spoke and then left with no questions. Just didn’t sound like a serious candidate to me from the article.

This may be real, or maybe not.

The DMN despises conservatives, so imagine how they feel toward Tea Party favorites. I don’t say that Stockman is going to be the Second Coming, but I can assure you that the DMN will never make him look good, or anyone else who isn’t already a purified RINO shill.

Posters #27, #35, and others who think Cornyn is a RINO, please take another look....be very careful for whom you vote too many wannabees don't know jack about the United States Constitution even tho they swear to uphold and protect it.....not too many do that now.

Republican Rep. Steve Stockman of Texas says he’s running against Sen. John Cornyn in the state’s 2014 primary because the incumbent is a backstabbing “liberal” who only votes with Republicans “temporarily” when an election approaches. But Cornyn’s voting record shows otherwise. Actually, Cornyn is rated among the most conservative of all senators, and for years he’s voted in line with fellow Republican senators more often than all but a few of his GOP colleagues. In a “Dear Patriot” fundraising letter posted on Stockman’s campaign website Dec. 10, the congressman began: “You are in a foxhole fighting to save our constitutional Republic … … and the last thing you need is a Republican bayonet in your back.”

That line is right out of the Cornyn radio ads that are running every twenty minutes on all the Stations in Texas. The only solution is let Cruz vote twice. Then I would be happy.

Very well said. And imagine what a more personable and pragmatic Obama could conceivably accomplish via the legal legislative process with a Republican party that always seems to be looking for any reason to abandon its principles and surrender to the Democrats. It truly baffles me how he doesn’t turn off more of the public with his absolutely arrogant a-hole persona!

The term “Executive Action” should be a wakeup sledge hammer to the head of any sane America. It has a history re a certain meaning and it isn’t pro-America.

This is a teaser. If I can find my documentation, then I’m going to do a column on this subject. It joins the term “Machurian Candidate” in the lexicon of the Communists.

CAVEAT: Mitt Romney was near the bottom of my list of the GOP candidates in 2012. When he got the nomination, however, the choice was clear. Obama was unthinkable to allow to have a second term.

Weakness in foreign policy is the most dangerous aspect of the Obama presidency, but the power of creating law by Executive Order was probably a close second. I knew, as did others, what was in store for this country. Obama has always shown disdain for the Constitution. Many on this site, particularly those who loathe Mormons, said there would be little or no difference with a Romney presidency. We saw the vitriol and attacks and endless cutting and pasting of the same arguments and photos, ad nauseum. Well, guys, I guess you are seeing the difference. But you can at least feel smug that you helped keep a dreaded Mormon out of the White House. This Catholic was not afraid of Mitt Romney. Congrats to you. I trust you are enjoying the Obama presidency.
