A Torrance police officer who opened fire on a pickup truck during the manhunt for former Los Angeles police Officer Christopher Dorner was justified in his actions and will not face any criminal charges, the District Attorney's Office announced today.
Prosecutors concluded that Officer Brian McGee "did not commit any criminal misconduct" on Feb. 7 of last year when he rammed David Perdue's truck with a patrol car, then fired three shots through the driver's side window.
According to a charge evaluation worksheet prepared by Deputy District Attorney Geoffrey Rendon, McGee acted reasonably in light of the ongoing search for Dorner, who had killed two people at that point and went on to kill two others -- a Riverside police officer and San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy.

I hope he is not a police officer anymore.
RUFKM! This is F’in OUTRAGEOUS! All is forgiven because the cop was Scared? He attacks and tires to kill a driver that didnt resemble Dorner in a truck that did not match the description of dorner’s. Its official, the cops are out of control and completely unaccountable for their criminal and negligent actions.
“I hope he is not a police officer anymore.”
Probably not. Probably retired with PTSD because he was so in fear for his life from the little white guy he tried to kill. And also the horrible accident he was in. Caused by the little white guy driving the mean old Honda. Early retirement with full pension and benefits of course.
Hell, they’ll probably give him a medal. And I’m not kidding. Some kind of commendation at least. Heroism in the line of duty and all.
Yeah, because it’s easy to mistake a white surfer dude for a rogue black cop...
The Brotherhood closes ranks again...
I do believe we've reached that point. But will we ever take action?
The cops tried to kill this guy and two hispanic women for no reason.
All Rodney got was a deserved ass whuppin.
The foxes have once again cleared another fox in the chicken coop case....
maybe we need to don we now our gay apparel and wear towels on our heads.
The police were never going to take Dorner alive. This was proven by shooting the van shoothe two Asian women delivering papers and this shooting. Neither resembled Dorner nor did their vehicles. When they had him trapped in the cabin they never sent in a negotiator to try and make him surrender. In no Way excusing Droner’s actions, but I’m convinced that from the onset the police had a dont take him alive order.
The city gave the ladies a new vehicle. I think that was all.
It would be nice if the myfoxla had photos of the 3 people and the vehicles. The surfer had been stopped minutes before by other police who warned him to drive in another direction as they had the area under surveillance. They did not shoot him. They talked to him. <— talked to him
That police officer who did shoot should be in jail for attempted murder.
Kinda makes you wonder if Dorner had a point in the first place. He shouldn’t have shot an innocent, but the corruption may have made him just crazy.
Maybe Huey Newton and H. Rap Brown had the right idea!
“2. What would have happened if the innocent party was armed and shot back at the police officer?”
In the current environment, that’s coming, bet on it! And I am waiting for a dog’s owner who has just watched the cops unjustifiably shoot his family pet, drop the cops.
with all the other police shootings, beatings, killings — Kelly Thomas, Andy Lopez, ... this one slipped through the radar.
I know the LAPD wrote them a settlement check, but don’t know if anything happened to the cops.
I have been here a little over a year, but there have been enough of these stories to fill a book.
Which was donated by a local dealership!
See a cop, shoot first, the life you save may be your own? I mean, that’s what this cop did.
(sarcasm).
I am disappointed, they might have been fun to taunt............
