RICHMOND - Gov. Terry McAuliffe's transportation chief says work has been suspended on a new toll road that would run parallel to U.S. Route 460 from Suffolk to Petersburg.
Secretary of Transportation Aubrey Layne told the House Transportation Committee on Tuesday that no more money will be spent on the $1.4 billion, 55-mile highway until the state receives a permit from the Army Corps of Engineers. The project "should have been vetted a couple of years ago," Layne said. "There will be no more money spent on 460 until the permitting process is complete."
Even then, McAuliffe has said he plans to take a hard look to make sure the project is the best use of state dollars.

Virginia voters are discovering their new guv.
All the $$ is in northern VA; that’s where he will spend our tax dollars. I’d be surprised if this carpetbagger doesn’t start a high-speed rail line running from Richmond to DC.
Or until I can figure out how to skim the dollars off the top..................

But he’s already promising to push bills which will make Virginia more “gay friendly”, including queer marriage.
Bastard.
Must not have been enough union contracts for that job.
