A new Christian-focused scouting group formed as an alternative to the Boy Scouts of America has gotten off to a rousing start since its launch on Jan. 1.
Trail Life USA has seen an "explosion" of interest, forming more than 500 troops in 44 states, the group's founder John Stemberger, an attorney and president of the Florida Family Policy Council, told Newsmax.
Stemberger said a new group for boys was needed after the Boy Scouts of America decided to allow gay members to remain in its ranks.
"We see this as more than just a boys' program. We see it as a glimmer of hope to restore our country and to build leaders for tomorrow," Stemberger said.
"We want to see a shift in our culture back to sanity, back to responsibility, and back to building men who are going to actually lead lead their family, lead their spouses, lead their culture and society."
Stemberger said the group's goal is "to turn boys into men" and "to make them productive and godly husbands, fathers, citizens, and leaders.

They have yet to get IRS approval as a non-profit. How long do you think they’ll have to wait under Obamugabe?
This news is heartening! It is just a matter of time before the, now corrupt, BSA, will be history because of the greed of its leaders.
Amen
it is merely a fad, a crude attempt to create something from nothing that will wither and fade from lack of money and lack of interest.
Weren’t the Boy Scouts of America sued and threatened with continuing suits unless they complied. If so, what’s to stop the same thing from happening to this organization.
God bless the men and women who are organizing a godly alternative to the Scouts. Christian parents should support this new group in meaningful ways while we still have the constitutional freedom of association.
they will never get IRS approval as a nonprofit and will only succeed if they can somehow build their organization without relying on any breaks from the government, including access to any “public” facilities
nothing
even if they form as a religious group, we have seen this administration disrespects Western religion and the progressive/leftist/marxists in control of our govt consider their own social “values” superior to those of Christians and thus imposable by law
Someone who actually believes in the Constitution would simply side-step the problem. Do I take a tax exemption for donations to my church? Yes, because I believe that the only way I can affect government spending is by (legally) giving them less to spend. Mainstream Republicans have proven themselves just as untrustworthy in this regard as their Democrat brothers-in-arms. But, if that tax examption went away, I would continue to tithe because God's laws will never be repealed.
Prevent infiltration at the top is a start.
How will that stop lawsuits from outside groups?
The BSA had a problem with their leadership not actively and aggressively opposing external forces.
Scout troops don’t really need that much money to operate. The costs are usually due to outreach in underrepresented areas and administration costs.
I think you don't realize that when a foe with deep pockets takes you to court, you are eventually wiped out financially.
You may be correct. It is a "wait and see" game right now. But it is true that the Boy Scouts of America are no longer squeaky clean, and vulnerable to more corruption at the very top.
Do you know anything about the organization? Have you attended any of their meetings? American Heritage Girls has seen an explosion in their enrollment recently - even in an “evolved” town like Austin Texas.
with Girl Scouts pushing abortion, it should be abandoned
Girl Scouts is not a wholesome organization anymore. I have heard that individual troops can control the content, but even if they keep it out of their own local meetings, they are still pushing abortion on a national level. I don’t approve of them discussing anything of a sexual nature either which I have heard that they do. Sex ed is not their job.
YMCA/YWCA are not wholesome either any longer
