California bartenders must now wear GLOVES under new state law

Los Angeles bartenders have been told they must wear gloves when making drinks from now on, thanks to the introduction of a new food safety law.

Like chefs, bartenders have to wear gloves or use other utensils and are not allowed to touch ice, fruit garnishes or anything else that goes directly into your glass.

Changes to the California Retail Food Code went into effect at the beginning of 2014.

Chefs have also been banned from touching certain foods with their bare hands including sushi, bread, deli meats and fresh fruit and vegetables.

Bartender Matthew Biancaniello says he has experimented with gloves in the past.

'I felt really suffocated by it,' he told the LA times. 'I'm always touching any kind of herbs from my garden, touching persimmons to feel for their plumpness or softness. But the gloves thing, even when I go to buffets and see it, I flinch a little and think 'hospital.'

In the kitchen, chefs have called the new law 'ineffective and wasteful'.

*California is becoming a case study in one reason why civilizations collapse.*

California is filled with the Eloi people.

The politicians are the Morlocks.

Speaking of California.........when I moved into my town I was six and
my bestest buddy was seven. Mike taught me my first put-down joke.
Getting off the school bus coming home he called to 8yr old Pam,
“Hey, what hand do you wipe your butt with? “ Annoyed.Pam retorted,
“My right!” Without missing a beat Mikey yells back, “Woooooo, yyy
uuuccckkkk. Most people use toilet paper!” It was 1957 and it seems
like yesterday.

"A bartender that washes hands frequently is far safer than one that puts on a pair of gloves and wears them all day."

Ayup. As soon as he's touched something outside the "sterile field" gloves don't mean squat.

I've had to leave the OR and re-scrub over this.

One turn of a sink knob and the gloves are way filthier than simply washing hands and turning it off with a paper towel.

Don't get me started on the bacteria on banana peels and orange rinds.

Do you think that the field hands who picked them were wearing gloves?

Or did they take a dump in a porta-potty and get back to grabbing?

Remember the ecoli found in vegetables?

Guess where ecoli likes to live?

So the beer-tender has to use gloves when touching fruit? So my lime in my bottle of Corona is sterile? Or the orange in my Blue Moon?

But what if the beer-tender touches dirty, filthy money with his/her gloved hand prior to touching my beer-enhancing fruit? Can you imagine how many gloves every beer-tender will go through on a shift? And, tell me, the drunks will pay attention to glove changes while bellowing for the beer-tender to hurry up with their drink.

Got it. OK. Yeah surefine.

Actually, this one makes a lot of sense to me as a researcher in a hospital. Just saw the stats on serious disease pathogens walking around on cell phones. Now, when I think about going to a bar in the syphilis capital of the world, I hardly want to go in, much less breathe the air there, much less let some gay guy mix me a drink there.
Facts sink in slowly for liberals. This one shows they’re starting to get it.

Won’t be long that restaurants and bars are out of business and the govt will be delivering your meals to your door or you wall have to attend a govt cafeteria where delivers/servers will be wearing haz-mat suits.

Yummy.

Not just forks on the table. Patrons also handle menu cards that dozens or hundreds of previous customers handled. My wife always brings a bottle of disinfectant gel to cleanse our hands before we eat. She also uses hot tea to wipe her cup and utensils. It must work, because we rarely get sick when eating out.

I kinda like when Ruby (my favorite bartender) uses her fingers! It gets me ALL stirred up, so to speak.
