Number of Americans who don't believe in climate change rises
NBC News ^ | 1/16/14 | Stephanie Pappas

The number of Americans who believe global warming isn't happening has risen to 23 percent, up 7 percentage points since April 2013.

The latest survey, taken in November 2013, finds that the majority of Americans — 63 percent — do believe in climate change, and 53 percent are "somewhat" or "very" worried about the consequences.

The proportion of people who do believe in climate change has been steady since April 2013, but the proportion of those who say they "don't know" whether climate change is happening dropped 6 percentage points between April and November 2013, suggesting that many "don't knows" moved into the "not happening" category.

The more science you know, the less worried you are about climate

This, in a just-published US National Science Foundation-funded study, participants’ science knowledge and numeracy was tested and compared with levels of concern regarding climate change. The soft-studies profs were amazed, however, to find that as one moves up the scale of science knowledge and numeracy, people become more sceptical, not less.

Our goobermint’s answer to this will to be:

Deny grants, loans or scholarships for hard sciences students and increase those for journalism majors. (gotta have them to spread the BS from the “studies” put out by the race baiters ,”queer studies” majors, women’s studies students, and “environmental justice” majors.)

global warming is a hoax

63% of Americans still believe in the global warming hoax

this shows that the news media still rules this country and will forever

we are living in the matrix , an alternate false reality created solely by our overlords , the news media.

and who are the news media? they are the most rabid socialists/marxists namely democrats

almost all democrat voters believe in the global warming hoax. that’s why it’s only 23% of Americans that don’t.

democrats also trust government

The only “man-made climate change” would be all-out thermo-nuclear war...

Now THAT would cause a big climate change and be caused by man....

“The number of Americans who believe global warming isn’t happening has risen to 23 percent, up 7 percentage points since April 2013.”

Reads like a religion survey.

NBC sucks. Climate change has been happening since the beginning. The earth has been warming and cooling in cycles for a long, long time. Whether humans are responsible for that change has always been the question. NBC, at least from the excerpt, appears to be ignoring that entirely.

I would be happy with:

1. Do you believe that human activity materially adversely affects the climate?

2. If your answer to # 1 is yes, would you be willing to do the following to reduce that impact:

a. Cut your standard of living / income by 20%?
b. Increase your taxes by 20%?
c. Keep your home temperature at 60 or 65 degrees in the winter and 85 or 90 degrees in the summer?
d. Stop driving and take public transportation to and from work?

Answer from a liberal to your #2:

No, not me, but I’d be willing to force everyone else to live that way.

only 23%?

NBC must be faking numbers AGAIN to make it seem less than 60 percent.

Some elitist ruling class wannabe in the UN actually admitted that she believes communism is the only way to fight global warming.

I read that yesterday. She is praising China's "environmental solutions", none the less. She's from a S. American country and works at the UN. I wouldn't expect much else from her.
