In this case it sounds like a public facility. Plus a person should always be allowed to fight or not, whichever they choose. That should just be common courtesy
There is no “fighting” in Aikido.
Aikido is about love. Love your opponent
into the ground.
Let there be no disharmony in the universe.
The energy that an attacker directs at you
is used against them. If deadly force is used
the attacker may be hurt or killed although
the object is to avoid that.
Very ethical, there are no blocks, and force
is always directed in the direction a joint
wants to go, so there is no permanent damage
but lots of pain, except if the attack is
serious and the attacker does not know how
to respond.
I did not become shodan as my knees began to give
me a lot of problems from a prior motorcycle accident
but I did practice for 5 years and was up to test
for it.
