Santelli to Obama: How Can We Redistribute Wealth If There Is No Wealth? (video)

RICK SANTELLI: We all know that after Friday's jobs report, we know the economy is doing better. What we can't predict is will it be in a straight line, a nice even glide path? Will it be a 25-degree upward glide path, 30-degree, 45-degree or continue to be somewhat bumpy as some of the strength we observed in 2011, with GDP later to be followed by weakness? I can't answer that but what I can answer is that governments can't keep spending like it's 1999. Now, comments made before his first cabinet meeting for 2014, President Obama said the following, and this was in regard to unemployment benefits. He said, put it on the screen:

PRESIDENT OBAMA: I think we all know that there are a lot of hardworking Americans out there who are desperately looking for a job. And it's also good for our economy as a whole and will actually accelerate our growth.

SANTELLI: Okay. Let's take a couple of points there. First of all, we understand it's not only in America. There are a lot of hardworking people around the globe who would like to work who are having problems finding work. It seems to be a skill mismatch but maybe that oversimplified......

Reminds me of when my daughter was about six and wanted something. I told her I didn’t have money for it. She said “just get money out of the machine”.

Excellent question since 0%, 100% and all percentages inbetween of nothing is still nothing. Sadly, lefties have yet to figure out that little fact of reality.

The slope of the growth curve will remain nearly flat. Most business has adjusted to the status quo and have achieved some degree of profitability. For small and very small businesses the challenges to exist will continue. In a given slot, there may just be too many for a moribund economy to support. more will fail.

There can be no revival of the GDP growth until Obama is gone. Growth will result from a Republican President that replaces at least half of the bureaucrats and destroys wholsale the major regulating agencies.

" But the problem is how do we alleviate it?"

Lower energy costs, regulatory costs, taxes, the bureaucratic coefficient of drag on the Economy.

So many have lost faith in the American people and lost trust in government, that I can’t see much in the form of recovery.
There’s been such a tectonic shift towards collectivism. I doubt we can ever recover from this. My German mother recounts earlier times in pre-Nazi Germany. They sound eerily familiar to todays scenario.
Is this simply natural human direction towards feudalism? We know that the American brand of freedom, individual responsibility and economic liberty are not the normal. To quote Merle Haggard, ‘Are the good times really over for good?’
(Been reading ‘The Second Machine Age’, and I don’t see here the type of innovation and ambition that it would take to thrive and prosper in the future.)

Santelli, I was just trying to think of his name because his rant started the whole Tea Party thing.

Amen...

I have begun a study of the French Revolution. The powers that be, the King, his court, the nobility and the church were kicked out by the people.

There were but a few strong voices like Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin, and Dr Ben Carson and Rush, and Levin that accomplished the revolution. The result was terrible, extremist overkill that eliminated the original voices.

They had no internet but they had pamphlets and hand bills printed up instantly from many many small presses. The message got out, around the strong central control.

In America, today, the quality of life is much better than in France. We do not go hungry. Women don’t stand in line forever for bread. We have a long way to go down before those conditions are present here.

As Lady Thatcher said, 'The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.'

==

A trillion here. A trillion there. And most things still remain the same. Notice how the money for all those Fed aid programs seem to go to cronies of the administration in power at the time.

War on Poverty: failure.

War on Drugs: failure.

What 'ideas' have the Leftists ever made happen turned out to be good ideas?

Paper or plastic? or a reusable bag contaminated with residuals from previous uses.

Global Cooling Warming Climate Change. Just another way to pay of cronies and transfer money from taxpayers to usurpers.

I still chuckle when I think of Neil Cavuto and his comment regarding Santelli's rant. Cavuto, a couple of days after Santelli's rant, said that the 'tea party' rally would lose its appeal and be over by the weekend.

Many politicians and media pundits only wish Cavuto had been correct. :)

“How Can We Redistribute Wealth If There Is No Wealth?”

Silly capitalists and freedom lovers.

You simply force the producers to work and give up every dime in exchange for the bare necessities of life. Food, shelter, safety, etc.

You also slowly "eliminate" those pesky non-producers once their stupid votes are no longer needed to keep you in power.

Not overnight though. Change needs to be slow enough for the sheeple to forget what they lost...

Ah, but Perception is reality. The Divisive and Cruel tactics used by the left convince the folks that they can provide the basics of life to them at nominal costs or effort if they just cede the appropriate powers to the ruling elite. After all, they know what’s best for you better than you do.
It doesn’t take a majority to control the folks, just a ruthless few to make an example of just a couple who do not comply.
Don’t you feel the temperature rising? A Rational, reasonable, and logical debate can no longer be had. I hear my Conservative counterparts reaching fever pitch levels to match that of the ‘Progressives’ and it makes me very sad.
Always remember Voltaire’s words....
“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”

-—— A Rational, reasonable, and logical debate can no longer be had. ———

Amen, Amen!

So true. At present, the counter to the emotional rhetoric there must be vitriolic words backed by action. In the hope to prevent the coming catastrophe, the change resisting Republicans hope to muddle through tip toeing down the fence.

and yes, I have been rereading my slim volume of Voltaire too. He favored negotiation rather than revolution I think.
