California was majority Mexican when it first became a state, why would this be any different if it returned this way? Not saying things haven’t changed, I just think this is more hyperbole than what will really happen.

There has always been a large Hispanic population in the SW. Most are 3rd, 4th, 5th generation families who can’t even speak Spanish. In recent decades there has been a large influx of Latinos into the SW making it seem worse, but it fluctuates. When the recession (now a depression IMO) first hit, a large chunk of the illegals left because there was no work. Now many are coming back making it look like Hispanics will overtake whites again. The illegals will go where the work is so if the Cali economy drops again, they will move to another state.

Only a small minority of Mexicans (mostly illegal) want California to be part of Mexico again and the only reason it gets support in Cali is a combination of Hispanic loyalty and white fear. If the talk became a reality, California would scream and cry to the US to save them from Mexico. In a nutshell, most are a bunch of whiny wimps who are too afraid to stand up for themselves. Probably one of the core reasons I never moved back. After living in a conservative state, I no longer want to live my life as a victim.

They may not 'want it' to be part of Mexico but it is de facto becoming just that as will any other part of this nation if/when it becomes increasingly Latino. Of course then there is the whole Hispanic Caucus & LaRaza thing...

It's wayyyyyyy too far down that path to turn away from that destiny. At least part of California will ultimately be owned by Mexico.

if freepers and other conservatives don't have children, and the main theme of many freepers is hatred of women and marraige, then why should we NOT expect for other people to fill in the vacuum?...its a natural thing just like Europeans filling in America.....

there is no way to stop it....

but lets look at the bright side if we can...latinos will have to be leaders now...latinos will have to raise taxes or cut budgets....its to the point where the rich will continue moving away and it'll be the middle class latinos taking the brunt of the taxes or the cuts....

none of this would have occurred if we were all the good little Mormons or Catholics or conservative Jews or protestants that we are supposed to be, making family and children the number one goal in our lives, after God, instead of the worship of things...
