A 55-year-old man was sentenced to jail and 400 hours of community service after previously admitting to stealing a Salvation Army donation kettle in Painesville Township the week before Christmas.
Painesville Municipal Court Judge Michael Cicconetti sentenced Jeffrey L. Gregg to 180 days in jail, with 175 suspended. He also must complete 200 hours at the Salvation Army or another local food kitchen and 200 hours at the court’s garden, which grows and distributes food to local charity organizations, by Sept. 1. Additionally, Gregg must repay the money that was stolen and wear a Santa hat during his community work.
“When people ask you why you’re wearing the hat... you’re going to answer them truthfully: ‘It’s because I stole from the Salvation Army at Christmas time and stole a kettle, and this is my way of repaying them back,’” said Cicconetti.
On Dec. 21, Gregg entered the Giant Eagle store on Mentor Avenue and convinced the Salvation Army volunteers, made up of children in the 4-H program, that he was their relief. Soon after he removed the kettle from the stand and left the store.
You go in for a simple out-patient procedure and they can knock you out totally in 5 seconds. The procedure is done, you wake up a little fuzzy a half hour later and go home. Why can’t you just give that dosage to a person, the shoot them in the head! You’ve already decided to kill them, if they feel nothing while “under” why not shoot them? I didn’t “feel or remember” my invasive procedure.,,why would they? Nothing like a well-intended liberal PC execution with exotic cocktails that cause groans and 20 minutes to die.
So, what is the penalty for Salvation Army managers wasting a little pot full worth of donated money?
